Leewards won the toss and elected to field I guess to utilize any moisture there in the pitch. Welcome back Tonge Fu!

Something must be done about these Bajan selectors.

Springer continues to be left out in favor of THREE spinners.

Why does Barbados alluva sudden feel they have to field three spinners, two medium pacers and one fast bowler?

Why does Barbados alluva sudden have no confidence in their fast bowlers?

Springer will have no opportunity this season becuz Roach and Cummins might very well be back in time for the next match.

Dumb idea to bowl first.

Last time Tonge/Louis catspraddle Pride.....lets see what happens this time.

I disagree VOR. Now is the toughest time for batting. the outfield will be heavy so it's harder to score. and the wicket might also be damp and hard to bat on. either way, you want to bat in drier conditions. whoever win this toss was going to bowl first.

tc1 2017-12-07 13:29:55

Why do Bim have these batsmen that can't get the ball on the square

On or off?

I beg to differ. This pitch and grounds dry out quickly and true you may have a tough first hour but it would be easier as the day progresses.

We miss Carty in the middle. His injury must be very serious.

Fair enough. And yeah Carty is the missing piece to having the strongest possible team.

Is not only de Bajan batsmen. Ah doh understand why dey cyah rotate de strike and seem content to poke n hit balls straight to fielders.

Garry said it a waste to hit the ball to fielders. What wrong with Brooks

voiceofreason 2017-12-08 10:58:37

257/7 Need to get them out for less than 300. Still no justification for inserting the opposition in notoriously batting friendly conditions. We have managed to keep runscoring in check. 257/ 103.1 overs

voiceofreason 2017-12-08 10:59:16

Hayden Walsh Jr gets his first game for Bim against his former team. Interesting.

analyst-kid 2017-12-08 11:03:23

Poor negative batting by Barbados Pride...at least a 100 should be have been scored in this session...instead they crawled to 85/5 in this session.

analyst-kid 2017-12-08 11:05:13

In reply to voiceofreason

I think Walsh Jr has strengthened the spin bowling component for Pride and with Warrican and Williams ..the Hurricanes will be hard pressed chasing any score over 250 batting last.

Outswinger 2017-12-08 13:24:07

In reply to analyst-kid

I totally agree. It is a travesty that he is STILL left out. Are they telling me that with so many on the Windies test team and then a team here in the regional tournament, Springer is not good enough to be in that mix? Really? I believe we have 8 people on the test team; another 11 playing in the regional, plus Nurse is on his way to NZ, so that is 20. So Springer is not good enough to be in the top 20 Bajan players? I beg to differ.

BTW, what the hec is the matter with Carter that he cannot occupy the crease and make a score? He can't be serious with these innings he is playing. From dis armchair, I'm looking for more serious players. Carter has no head!

And thirdly,
What's your pecking order for a partner for Kraigg in the Bim team from among Moseley, Alleyne, Corbin ?

analyst-kid 2017-12-08 13:33:20

In reply to Outswinger

Carter is Carter...consistently inconsistent. After 105 FC innings he avg 30.02.

Moseley has put his hands up...as an opener he has looked comfortable against the regional fast bowlers and spinners.

Corbin, what has he done to be in the mix?

True, not much, but I liked the look of him and I believe he has some talent. He is not done yet and is still young. I am surprised Shian Brathwaite did not get a bigger consideration too. Maybe not in the final 11, but both he and Springer should be in the squad.

Kyle had opportunities with CCC and Barbados, I am not sure how serious he want to be successful at cricket.

I think Kyle went off the boil a bit. He had a few prolific BCA seasons, was picked on a Windies A team; went to Bang and made a double century and then was back in the doldrums. Then he got this second wind, but it has been tough going for him. Maybe trying to be too careful. He has to be more positive and enjoy his game. However, a lot hangs on whether Darren decides to revive his test cricket career. If he does and has good form, he will be in the conversation. With him possibly back at 3, followed by Shai, Chase, and Ambris or Hetty, the others will be struggling to get a look in.

analyst-kid 2017-12-08 14:14:53

Now in the session before tea...after restricting Barbados Pride in the first session to 85/5....in this session Pride scores 127/2 with Greaves and Walsh Jr leading the way.

Can you imagine eight players not available to the Leewards?
Winning is important, but one has to be realistic and set goals, for the Barbados Pride
One of the team's goal has been met in this match, that is Moseley's ton.
BTW, the manager informed the public about the goals of the team, last Tuesday evening.
