They're rated pretty highly by Skytrax.

Anyone here traveled on Etihad Airways?
Haved used them before to fly to Thailand. No complaints.

So-so..Emirates is better. I can't believe I said that given the first four letters..

Seems like a lot of these Gulf-owned airlines have very high ratings.
Emirates, Etihad, Qatar, all appear to be well regarded. Each is state-owned, correct? Wonder if there's a funding bubble that could be at risk of collapse?
I heard that American carriers are pressuring Trump to address some issues with those airlines encroaching in their 'market'?

No doubt, and we've all seen the images of the luxury seats - but even the 'commoners' appear to have a good experience.
Or maybe I'm used to everyone complaining about the nickel-and-dime attitude taken by American/Delta/United/etc where anything resembling an amenity suddenly has an extra $$ charge attached. Yes, I remember when British Airways or Air Canada for example would give you metal cutlery and a real meal when travelling

LMFAO hahahahaha.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, Tryangle, state owned I believe. I saw a video for the private "apartment" in first class. Pretty impressive. Fella paid $3000+ for a three hour flight.
I can travel with Saudi Arabian Airlines for $100 less, but if this Etihad Airways is as good as Skytrax claims, then I don't mind spending the extra money.
In reply to Devin
Their business class is pretty darn good.
There are tons of reviews on these airlines on the internet.

Traveling is absolute shite these days. 5 and 6 hour flights, all they serve you is peanuts and a drink. I don't mind paying for food but it always seems like an inconvenience when you're flying.
And the amount of fees and charges, as well as the number of times you have to present your passport. Chirst have mercy.

Yeah. I read an article of the top 20 rated by skytrax, but when you review these airlines individually, it's a real mixed bag. In some cases you have a 5 star airline rated by skytrax, but that same airline is being plundered on other reputable sites.
British Airways, which isn't rated in the top 20, gets absolutely trashed online. Air Canada as well, I think.
Some people love to complain though, that what makes choosing a hotel so difficult at times.
In reply to Devin
That is so true. Especially middle aged White women. They complain the fcuk out of everything. A golden toilet will never shine bright enough for these wenches.
However, I would rate Etihad's business class ahead of BA or Air Canada but not ahead of Emirates (though it's not far behind).

Dude, I once read a review of a hotel where a person complained about the grounds not being big enough to walk his dog.
In reply to Devin
White people problems.

Years ago I worked for a firm who would ask clients to fill out a brief questionnaire about their experience as a client.
One lady complained that the pens (which are free) were offensive to her because it had the logo of the firm on it. She called it 'manipulative marketing'.
In reply to SnoopDog
I. Just. Can't.
Oh, humanity.
In reply to Tryangle
Oh, humanity.
It was crazy. Most of the criticism were usually directed at our billings and shitty coffee.
But this lady just didn't appreciate our so very clever and intrusive marketing strategy.

LMAO. Miserable fu#ktards. People in this part of the world love walking around with a stick shoved up their ass.
Most common terms in the workplace:
Offended, inappropriate, uncomfortable, threatened. There's one in our workplace; "horizontal violence."
In reply to Devin
Is that like 'spooning'?
In reply to SnoopDog
I still don't know or care what the fact it means. I think it constitutes verbal abuse and being hostile or overly combative.
emir rated
emirates is top notch
admittedly with emirates you'd be constantly looking for emir

Decent airline, but let down by it's home airport, Abu Dhabi. One of the filthiest airports I've experienced.
