This series reminds me of OZ v WI 1975-76. I remembered WI scoring a lot of runs, yet OZ will comeback and score a ton more.

I've been saying it for sometime now, more runs are scored in Australia than India these days (with the exception of when India plays Sri Lanka 
)

Why you say its a flat track?? WI scored 585 runs 42 yrs ago at this same venue and beat OZ by an innings! This is how Perth has played for most of the time.

Perth now is very tame compare to them days you talking about. Check the amount of runs that are scored in perth during days 2 and 3 now.
