Top 5 include (in no particular order): Whoops, Angela, Cicely, Alfre & perhaps Ms Dandridge or Carroll. At least 3 of these ladies are EQUALS. None in a so called class of their own.

Too many guys think Drama is all but if I go with versatility and the WHOLE package and you twist my hand to name the top black ACTRESS ever (not just drama or just comedy) then I would say Whoopster.

But as you know, this is all subjective. I just thought the class of her own comment was a bit over the top.

Point, you should really STFU sometimes. You aren't speaking to some sprattas. I was involved in the film industry for a time a few years ago and I also wrote reviews for a small website way back when. Oh, my Ghanaian classmate (in high school) and I wrote two screenplays for fun and registered with the Writers Guld of America. We were VERY much into film. We would always watch 4 films a week and discuss them, analyse the weekly box office etc etc. This was from 2nd form up to 6th when he went back to Ghana, his dad's diplomatic stay ending.

I also ran a video rental operation (of movies I sat down and watched while I recorded them from my parents' satellite dish) for along time dating back to 2nd form in high school back in the late 80s. You don't want to know how many movies I watched back then, and I mean per week. People had to wonder how I got any studying done.

Finally, I did do workshops with the NYA (New York Film Academy) in London a few years go to top it off.

You see, it was a filmmaking degree I was to study at Syracuse U, in NYC (I believe Mr Douglas is a grad, doh remember) when I was leaving Jamaica and my mother didn't approve of it as a profession hence I went to the UK instead to study accounting.

Now, I have seen the majority of Tyson's work, so please do STFU and know yu place when yu addressing me on the subject of film. Tyson IS NOT by far the best or in any league of their own. She can ARGUABLY be the best. Stop getting carried away with the fact that she born in Harlem to Nevisian parents. You want to make it seem she is Olivier and the rest are Clooneys! It is obviously YOU who know nothing about acting!

The fact that you were involved in the Film Industry doesnt automatically mean that you can judge Talent .

I would agree that Dorothy Dandridge was a very good Actress , but in her time she wasnt given or allowed to have roles to highlight her abilities . Which obviously wasnt her fault .
