In reply to thefan Fan, you are like a Ramdin....or a Dwayne Smith.
Bonehead at times but can't write you off as you come back with some brilliance, like........
Has racism and victimhood evolved from a genuine issue to one that is now more of a common usage to better define a group? It probably makes sense for the purpose of forging collctivism and unity to argue that all were victims rather than some were victims or........
and if we recognise the perpetrators rather than try to defend Forbes or the Massahs, there can be such powerful bonding as people share the commonality.
The black man is not the enemy of the Indians or vice versa inspite of what Spuds or the blackman feel about the Indians. They were set up to feel that way.
Why you think Forbes went to such great extent to prevent any breakdown of order.....he didn't want too many blacks get beaten up or chop up with #22 cutlasses....my interpretation alone BTW, for comic relief.
Berbicians don't fear any blacks...they fear anything more than one main road and one backdam...they does get lost easy. Then to get directions, they don't understand the town man's Queen's english..... who in turn don't understand the Berbicians foreign language.
Then to get used to flush toilets and showers compared to a quick dump in the latrine and a swim in de trench.
Intimidation!
The town man, black or indian, always walk with a swagger and talk like he is Forbes first son, knowing everything.....lottsa fat talking and "granning".
When yuh ask the countryman how much money he has, he will show you each hundred dollar bill (1973 value) as he counts out loudly, whereas the town man will say he owns a million of those and if he took those he will double them for the countryman.
After a few episode of that, the countryman start getting wise to the world and stop trusting the sweet talking braggarts who don't even have one head of goat or sheep to their name, much less a cow, tractor or combine.
