the thing is iz no secret Ramdin batting shit

but Boucher has scored 1 test hundred in the last 9 years...and that was against WI (Drakes Sanford D Smith and co.....) so dat doh really count for much

brians_da_best 2008-08-07 10:12:38

In reply to Amnesiac but he has chipped in wid useful performances to average 30 over all those years.. what is ramdin's average again?? couldn't win us the odi, nor help us save all those test matches

In reply to Patrickcity look, if you feel ramdin is earning his keep as a wicketkeeper batsman, you need help

Wally wait yuh what's it not, what's up?

brians_da_best 2008-08-07 10:25:14

ramdin's last test 50 came 21 innings ago, yes 21.. unacceptable. since then, he has got 11 scores under 10, including 3 ducks

No one said Ramdin is worth his pick in the team.

My point is, some clowns used Boucher's 40 odd not out last week to draw a reference between 'a keeper who can bat' and Ramdin and I am saying Boucher is rubbish with the bat

b4 the 3rd Test of the Eng v RSA series Boucher's test AVerage is <30
With the 45 not out it's up to 30

If one was to follow his batting over the last few years in Test cricket then one would have to assume that Boucher's value to the RSA is more for his glovework and THEN his batting.

JahJah 2008-08-07 10:39:06

In reply to Amnesiac

you do realise RSA has won the series already and much of that due to Boucher's runs in the last test.

You remember this, correct?

Amnesiac 2008-08-07 10:45:13

In reply to JahJah

u mean he chipped in in 1 Test right?

Tizzle_Dndee 2008-08-07 10:47:01

In reply to brians_da_best Who will u play in Ramdin's Position.??

brians_da_best 2008-08-07 10:50:39

In reply to Tizzle_Dndee baugh and browne. young james is there as well.. my point is unl;ess you try these guys you would never know how good/bad they are. its not that ramdin has been a huge success. look at india. already karthik is out and patel is getting a game tomorrow

these guys will improve if they get opportunities.

Who won the series??????....who was part of a useful partnership that secured the series?????????? rolleyes

jala 2008-08-07 10:56:28

In reply to brians_da_best

well said..........

they keep asking a stupid question, "how will replace ramdin"?.......well I never knew he was Jesus??.........he is so good he has become irreplaceable rolleyes

voiceofreason 2008-08-07 11:02:51

In reply to Amnesiac

Ramdin's Average after 27 Tests: 21.65 and 0 Tons.
Boucher: 32.14 and 3 Tons

Ramdin needs to step up with the Bat... That is indisputable.

Amnesiac 2008-08-07 11:03:31

In reply to jala

are you saying Marc Boucher won the series for RSA ???

just as Brian Lara never won the Ashes??

Amnesiac 2008-08-07 11:04:06

In reply to voiceofreason

agreed

but ur missing the point

Boucher aint no player to compare a keeper/batsman to

Surya 2008-08-07 11:04:44

No denying that Boucher is a useful batsman and gritty customer despite not scoring 100s like Gilchrist.
Ramdin needs to improve.

brians_da_best 2008-08-07 11:05:03

In reply to voiceofreason

Ramdin needs to step up with the Bat..

in domestic cricket, to earn any more test matches

JahJah 2008-08-07 11:05:22

In reply to Amnesiac

listen, if Boucher had played like Ramdin in that last test the series would now be level going into this match....but isn't, is it?

bcl400 2008-08-07 11:06:40

ramdin and boucher are both good keepers.

when it comes to batting boucher is way ahead.
boucher has played some match winning innings though he might not have scored hundreds.
he has played according to the situation most of the times.
when his team needs him to stay at the crease and get some runs he has done it very consistently.

ramdin has not done this yet.

Amnesiac 2008-08-07 11:22:48

In reply to JahJah

is that a certainty?

Morkel may cud bat

voiceofreason 2008-08-07 11:27:12

In reply to Amnesiac

Boucher aint no player to compare a keeper/batsman to

Nope. Youmissing the Point. We not looking for Ramdin to be a Gilchrist, cause let us face it Gilchrist is a Genius. All we ask is that he be as good as Boucher at least. That is the Benchmark must achieve.

Tizzle_Dndee 2008-08-07 12:03:23

In reply to brians_da_best browne and baught are not that much better batsmen than ramdin...Ramdin is miles ahead in the keeping department...in test the job is to keeep first and bat second....

brians_da_best 2008-08-08 03:02:54

In reply to Tizzle_Dndee ramdin cant even bat 'second'. and baugh is a much better batsman than ramdin. his keeping is not that bad. same for james. browne in his limitred odis has done very well, save the one failure, post whoich he was dropped
