C.Gayle needs to rip a page from G.Smith's book

The universal respect of his nation, the rapport with his coach, and the command of his team-mates - these are all the aspects of the role that Smith enjoys by dint of his efforts over the course of five years.
Rather than constantly trying to prove us that he is
the Man, or alternately is a
man, Gayle should let the fans be the ultimate judge of those contentious facts.
Enough of the constant fighting with the Board, the selectors and sundry other administrative types. It's time to start with some personal and team consistency on the field of play.
It would serve Gayle well to rip apart a few pages from Graeme Smith's playbook, and learn how he has coped with South African cricket contentious transformation policies and the "quota" issue.

Yu rasses behavin like Smith just woke up today and became this bigger than life Cappo. You all never remember when he use to fight with the coach the selectors and the board. You all forget that right. Some of you folks who praising him now were the first ones to chide him back then. Yet still you all behaving like it was smooth sailing for Smith but conveniently forget the battles he had to fight over his own ability as a captain, his position as a player and fighting with team mates. You all forget when Smith was fighting woth Lans Klusner right. Smith had to fight tooth and nail to get the team that he wants or thinks he can win with.
Its funny though unnoo have lots of chat for the WIndian who in a similar position. I aint saying that what Gayle is doing is wrong or right. But it was certainly not a bed of roses for Smith and now that he has pulled through unnoo jumping on a bandwaggon as if it was easy and he did not have some of the same issues and problems that now face his WI counterpart.
So Gayle have the entire fus chpater in hand, what aint guaranteed is that the final chpater will be the same.

True. But, one thing Gayle CAN try emulate is Smith's run-scoring. This is what leading from the front is all about.

Sorry to bring the bad news.. Gayle is NOT Smith.. Please note, most of Smith's runs scored as the CAPPO. This is what I call leading from the front.

Thank you, if Gayle wasn't such a liability at the top of the order, maybe WI would get more solid starts and make bigger totals for a much improved bowling attack.

Smith has had his ups and downs as a cappo and I hated him especially when he played against WI and some of the condescending remarks he'd make; however, he has always been a consistent run-scorer. If you were to judge Gayle by his comments you'd think he'd have more than 2 hundreds in non-dead rubber tests in 60-plus matches
