Where exactly should Shiv bat in the order considering all possible factors?
#3 or #4 would be the ideal spot for the best batsman in the side. Given the weakness of the WI openers I'd plump for #4.
Can you provide any statistical evidence that batting where you believe he should realistically bat would translate to more runs for WI?
Given that Shiv hasn't batted up the order in 10 years (apart from the 2nd Test with the scabs in SL by memory) there's no statistical evidence to say whether he would be a failure or a success. I am confident though that Shiv would be up to the new challenge.

Oh I understand that some like you are besotted with Shiv's not-outs and their effects on his average. His not-out may well decrease with a promotion up the order with a consequent negative effect on his average. However, his overall run production (runs per match) would go up which is all that counts from a West Indian team (as opposed to a selfish) perspective.
