If England can make this one change,.... they will have a near perfect bowling attack --

Mathew Hoggard & Steve Harmisson
Andrew Flintoff & James Anderson
Monty Panesar

I have a feeling, that the Ashes 4 --- Hoggard, Harmisson, Flintoff and Jones are still the best combination for England.

Unfortunately, Simon Jones and Mathew Hoggard have lost favor with the selectors

No doubt, England has the best bench (squad) of pacers in world cricket today

Bounce & Pace -- Harmisson, Flintoff, Tremelett, Plunkett
Swing & Seam-- Sidebottom, Anderson, Hoggard, Simon Jones
New Blokes---- Darren Pattison, Stuart Broad, Sajid Mahmood, Tim Bresnan,

Amazing... it's hard time for the selectors for sure. smile

With all that "bench strength", prasad's dream of "fully fit" Pommie team is never realized. redface

Yeah, probably... it's sad, I think Hoggard is getting a very raw deal here. He has been a match winner for England for so long, couple of bad tests and they drop him for life.

They did the right thing by dropping him, but now that he has shown form in domestic cricket, he should return...

You have rightly pointed out, they have serious fitness and form issues.

But I think the selectors have got it woefully wrong this summer.... by leaving out Harmisson & Hoggard from the scene of the battle.

he is a swing bowler man.... never was a quickie...

Well, don't know, whether he will play again or not, but he is certainly in my book, a great player..

Tests......Wickets......Best-I......Best-M......5WI....10WM......Avg....StrikeRate...WicketsPerMatch
67...........248..........7/61......12-205.........7........1.........30.50......56.0............4.00

Seems to be doing well in the FC season, nothing spectacular, but decent form

Sajid Mahmood won't even make the windies side. Pattinson didn't impress me at all. For a big chest man, he should be banging that ball in like Morkel.
