Arise, Sir Hilary
Friday, November 30th, 2007University of the West Indies professor and WICB director Hilary Beckles is among Barbados’ newest knights. Beckles, 52, was conferred with the honour of the Knight of St Andrew, the highest award on the occasion of Barbados’ 41st anniversary of Independence. He was recognised for his distinguished service in the field of education, in particular at university level, and his dedication to the furtherance of the arts and sports, in particular cricket.
