Lacklustre effort

Friday, November 30th, 2007

As you might have heard, the West Indies lost to Zimbabwe today. Nothing earth-shattering there, two minnows, ODI cricket, etc. However, this portion of the Cricinfo report stood out for me.

West Indies’ plight was made worse by their lacklustre effort in the field: there were far too many fumbles in the outfield, and Runako Morton’s drop to reprieve Prosper Utseya in the last over of the innings typified the very ordinary display.

For all you blame-gamers, what’s the reason for a lack of effort?
