The man in charge of preparing Jamaica's bid to host matches in the 2007 World Cup cricket tournament wants to know how the profits from the mega-tournament will be distributed. Dr Wayne Reid, chairman of the steering committee for Jamaica's World Cup bid, has asked the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) and other affiliates of the West Indies Board to find out if (and how) the profits from the tournament will be shared. World cup not here yet, they not even quaarter prepared, yet still we have started to hear rumblings over profits. I think this is just the beginning of the squabbles that will happen, especially since the ICC hand over money. Just watch the vulchars start cirlcing.

Carl, Its not rumblings- but perfect sense !! They want Stadiums built and the finance will have to come from somewhere. If it were you, would you not want to know how that bill is going to be paid off? In as fragile a region as the Caribbean(financially), the WICB has to be open and forthcoming with this monetary aspect of the WC. Secondly, its about time some one questions how the WICB revenues are dished up even if its only WC revenue. I suspect the WICB will respond favorably to this so that they can retain the status quo on their regular Test and ODI fiscal policies. Those ole boys smart enough to know how to protect their cash cow- we know they aint been spending it on cricket redevelopment - so where is it going ?
