HEADLINE: What the next coach should do

The West Indies Cricket Board and coach Ottis Gibson recently parted company and the Board is now searching for a new coach to revive the team. Let’s hope that it chooses wisely this time and not repeat its mistakes of the last decade.
Indian captain MS Dhoni once told me that the main difference between good organisations and the others is the interval between mistakes. Good organisations make mistakes, learn from them and hardly ever repeat them. Lesser ones keep repeating them.
Performance is not only influenced by history and past experiences but also by goals and visions formulating the future. Our last three coaches seemed to have a limited and fuzzy picture of what they wanted the team to achieve and become and acted as if our cricket did not have a rich and successful history.

He did a Powen: A post to say one thing only...he has training in martial arts.
It was painstakingly difficult for me to read this article. Lots of corners at dangerous driving speeds but only to end in a whimper...
I must be added to the mgt team because I can change attitudes.
This a way too platitudinous for me. It's time for Rudi to give his tired brain a permanent rest.

Rudi has the answer to what ails West Indies cricket. He should be appointed team manager with sole responsibility for selecting the new coach.
He apparently places blame for the WI team's subpar performances over the last ten years squarely on the last three coaches. So once there is a new coach in place and that coach implements Rudi's methods we will be world beaters again. We will again have a successful team filled with "competent, well trained, highly disciplined and highly motivated players." We apparently have several such players available for selection who simply have not been properly coached and managed by the last three coaches

Well...if you want to gain the trust of players, what better way to start of by blaming their lack of performance on the coaches.
I can see fellas nodding and saying...mister is the man fuh we.
Conversely woe is he who gets that job and doesn't employ our think like a champion hero.

Thanks for the refresher.
Academy director Dr Rudi Webster, an employee of the university, was described in the report as a headstrong leader who "continually interfered and imposed his will on the players" despite not having attended the sessions conducted by the Aussie coaches.
The pair accused Webster of continually changing the players' batting techniques and interfering with the bowling actions of two youngsters "to the extent they could have injured themselves."

"The problem from the inception stems from the fact that the WICB has very little input into what goes on there. It's the WICB's academy but they have no say and can't ask any questions when issues are raised," one source said.
Ever since the Academy was launched with financial support from Shell, the board has asked Webster to produce a written curriculum on the programme. To date, this has not been provided. After that December meeting, the distrust ran so deep that the WICB asked that all the agreements be documented.

"They had all these agreements after that December meeting but nothing's really changed. Webster is still acting like he owns the place and no one is really going to question him because he's part of the old boys' network," one angry source declared.

Another major agreement from that December meeting was the need for improved physical facilities and stricter curfews and pastoral care, which were sore points from the 'Toot Byron Report'.
What Webster declined to mention was that the programme has been mired in distasteful events, including a rape charge against spinner Dave Mohammed and a murder of one of the helpers at the Academy. (Mohammed has since been cleared of the rape allegations). In previous programmes, indiscipline among players have also been reported.
Seems like Rudi would fit right in with this current crop.
