Red Force Trinidad and Tobago Limited. That is how the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) will be doing business under the new franchise system soon to be introduced in West Indies cricket.

In the restructuring of the regional system, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has instructed its six territorial boards to form companies to run the affairs of the teams. “That is where the franchise tournament will operate from,” TTCB president Azim Bassarath told the Express yesterday.

Bassarath said the new company was formed back in May. “That is why Gus Logie was brought on board since June 1,” the president said.

His statement of keeping it local will surely sweet BQ.
But I think for the first season will make sense for teams like TnT. the stronger teams will most likely keep most if not all their squads.
Teams like LI, WWI and GUY (lesser extent, they have a really good and upcoming U19 squad who they can push to their senior side) should seek to get some players in.
I think in the future the noise over the movements of players will die out and it will be common to have players from all over the region not playing for their 'local' squads.

This is how I wanted the CPL to start out. Start out with each team retaining a core group of players from the home team, and allow scouting for signing of "free agents" as well as transfers. So for instance TT has 2 promising wicket keeper batsmen, Katwaroo and Pooran as well as the incumbent WI captain Ramdin. It is unlikely that all 3 will be retained by TT, so another country who may be lacking in this part can sign one of them as a free agent.
