Sir Richie, how about "rotating" the Wkr so that he could keep "fresh"...

How many simple regulation catches he dropped since he became captain? Was he "fresh" then?

Manager of the West Indies Cricket Team, Sir Richie Richardson, has called on the region to support wicket-keeper batsman Denesh Ramdin as captain of the regional squad.
Sir Richie’s call follows the team’s successful showing against Bangladesh in a recent home series in which they won all two Test matches and all three ODIs while the lone T20 match was cancelled due to rain.

the big question is why did Richie had to issue a statement for people to support the cappo?

who is not supporting the new cappo, besides the Sammy fans?

all two test matches? confused

natty_forever Sep 25, 2014, 9:37:48 AM

In reply to imusic... I think he is saying for ODIs and T20s ... being the cappo, I don't think he would expect him to be rested for test or could he?

The players are the public too.

Sometimes allyuh need to tune in a bit better.

natty_forever Sep 26, 2014, 12:42:57 AM

In reply to Commie... you too tuned in ... cause that call would have been made private if he was talking about the players. United we win ... Divided we lose ... "watch the ride"

In WI Cricket like most sporting politics you have to look beyond the obvious.

As was asked on this thread, who is he appealing to ? And why now ?

They are about to tour...when player unity is most crucial. Not fans. Fans will have NO presence in India and SA other than blogging or watching.

Anyway...carry on smartly.

Based upon what I have heard, even Ramdin's countrymen on the team are divided in their support of him. He does not yet have "control" of the team he's leading.

Why should he make a public statement for something that should be handled internally (if its the team members he is addressing)?

If thats the case, he is an incompetent manager and should be fired for airing dirty laundry!

West Indies will tour India from October 8 to 19, where they will play five ODIs, one T20 and three Test matches.
