HEADLINE: The BCCI strikes back

CaribbeanCricket.com Oct 17, 2014, 12:28:39 PM

The BCCI is making no distinction between the WICB and the players as they show their displeasure with abandonment of the West Indies' tour of India.

"The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has informed the BCCI of its decision to cancel the rest of its ongoing tour to India because of a dispute with its players, and has advised the BCCI that its players will return home immediately."

Meanwhile on their official website they have published a "Timeline of WICB's withdrawal" to justify a conclusion of "this makes it clear that all along, the WICB was withdrawing its team if a resolution was not reached in the issue with their players". The facts as presented, however, seem to indicate more of an abandonment by the players and a board unable to prevent it.

The Hindu carries a report that adds some detail to the events immediately prior to Friday's ODI, notably:

The HPCA president rushed to the players’ hotel with a team of officials and pleaded with the West Indians to relent.

“We have made up our mind. No further discussion on this matter,” Thakur was told two hours before the match was to commence.

Stung by the West Indians’ response, Thakur retorted, “In that case, I am not your host, you are not my guests. Kindly make your own arrangements to fly back. If the match is cancelled, I am not sure if you can get a flight to go to Delhi.” He then left the hotel. And 10 minutes later came the West Indies team management’s decision to rescind its decision.

Pybus and Cameron have some nerve to not to respond to BCCI. And their responses are very rude. God damn..

They do not know which side of their bread is buttered

12 October 2014:

Mr. Patel met Mr. Cameron in Dubai and asked him for a confirmation that the rest of the tour will go on. Mr. Cameron assured that by close of business on Wednesday 15 October, he will confirm one way or the other.

AM of 16 October 2014:

There was no response from Mr. Cameron.

And this, folks, is really symptomatic of what happens in WI cricket. No professionalism in administration. A simple thing as responding on time this idiot could not do.

That says it all right there....and it bigger than BCCI...it's the whole cricketing world.....all parties involved have not realized the repercussion of the brainlessness that happened today....they have dashed away yeah and years of reputation and credibility down the drain....

The BCCI was clearly upset by players and WICB. The antics before the game this morning just added fuel to the fire. The Indian official was fuming. When a man tells you that you are no longer his guest and that you must find your way to the door you know that he is upset.

The BCCI wanted to teach the WICB a lesson . That email from Richie was the excuse to they were looking for. They were quick to read it as a cancellation of the tour. They were tired of the continuous threat of strike action by the players and just wanted to get rid of us.
