Today's board meeting in Barbados to discuss last week's catastrophic abandonment of the West Indies tour of India could easily turn out to be among the most stormy in the 88-year history of the West Indies Cricket Board.
But if president of the Jamaica Cricket Association Billy Heaven has his way, board members will be focusing on finding solutions to the crisis rather than bitter recriminations.
"Our task right now is to find a solution to this very embarrassing, distressing and untenable situation that has developed. At this time we have to put aside the whole notion of casting blame. We have to be mature and act in a very responsible manner," Heaven told the Observer late Sunday.
"All parties involved will have to find ways to move forward. This is about West Indies cricket. Whatever it takes, we have to do, we must do, to save West Indies cricket. Cricket must be the winner at the end," Heaven told the Observer by telephone.

I am still confused...were the players on strike or did West Indies cancel the tour while the players were playing?
I know the players threatened and said they could not go on.
But wicb offered BCCI an alternative team... BCCI said no thanks the tour is off. While wicb were issuing press releases saying the tour is not off.
You see what I am getting at? Who called whose bluff? Wicb called players bluff and BCCI called their bluff?
Ps can you actually fire a man for going on strike?
Or threatening a strike?
