Centurion - The Titans have given former World Cup T20 winning captain, Darren Sammy, the reigns for the remainder of the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge campaign.
He will be the skipper when the Titans take on the Knights in a vital must-win RAM SLAM T20 Challenge clash at Chevrolet Park in Bloemfontein on Friday.
“I wanted Henry Davids, Darren’s predecessor, to focus solely on winning games for the Titans with the bat,” said Rob Walter, the coach, in explaining the decision to replace the current captain.
Davids was the captain of the Titans team that shared the spoils with the Cape Cobras in the One-Day Cup competition in 2013/2014.

Second non-windies team Sammy has been asked to captain.
I tell ya this board is an odd place. People would make you think Sammy has no right to be captain for the windies yet he could be captain for others.
Loads of irony and self-hating in there.

Bro, captaining a club team is much different from making an International, furthermore being name captain.
Sammy never ever, should be on the team.
The dude was a part timer, hit or miss player.

Everywhere I look it seems as if one or other of the players involved in the fiasco in India are being rewarded.
Odd old world, innit?

Because international players don't captain and play for these "club" teams?
Because the fundamentals of playing cricket change when it is a club team?
Because West Indies play so much better than some of these club teams?
Yea.

Sammy being made captain of a club is similar to Fatberg captaining Jamaica, can you see him making a Windies team?

This is all good on $ammy. Actually, I'm proud.
I'd be remiss, however, if I didn't attempt to analyze the above quote.
The Titans wanted $ammy's predecessor to focus on his batting so he was relieved of the burden of captaincy. Does this mean that, contrarily, they don't think $ammy has anything else to offer?
