The West Indian players pulled out of their tour of India after four ODIs, leading to the abandonment of the fifth one-dayer, a Twenty20 international and three Tests. The dispute between the players on one side, and WIPA and WICB on the other, however, had begun even before the first game. In several letters written to the WICB, West Indies ODI captain Dwayne Bravo had expressed displeasure over the new player contracts, wanted the old ones back in place, and had also demanded that the WIPA chief Wavell Hinds resign. When neither of these conditions was met, the players abandoned the tour.

I would readily agree that all Parties were at fault . However some must be more culpable than others . My perspective is that the WICB IS MORE CULPABLE than the Players .

Why ?? because it is the WICB that is in the governance of Cricket in the Region . Let me repeat this for all & Sundry ;

IT IS THE WICB THAT IS IN THE GOVERNANCE

OF CRICKET IN THIS REGION . IT IS NOT THE

PLAYERS .

This means that the Players have no power
nor are they empowered to cancel matches ;because Players are not in the governance of Cricket in the Region .

This whole crisis could have ; and should have been avoided , had Cameron gone to India from Dubai to settle the dispute . But as usual , those in the governance of Cricket in the Region believed that it was beneath them , due to their status , and 19th century thinking , that they are
the Masters , and the Players their Servants .

In essence for decades those in the governance of Cricket in the Region have berated the Players , Publicly stating that they cannot Read , they believe that
the Players should never be treated as equals ; and their Friends in the Media have bought into that idea .

This in my opinion is really the heart of the matter between the continuous animosity between those in the governance of Cricket in the Region ; and the Players . Many of those who were in the WICBC may have passed away , but the Mimic Men still relish their Philosophy .regarding the distinct difference between themselves and their servants , the Players .

If WE want Cricket in the Region to improve apart from a complete restructuring , the Players must be treated as equals by ALL . Failure to do this , will continue to harm Cricket in the Region .

The Problem is that when People are so full of themselves and their friends in the Media refuse to tell them that they aint wearing clothes . They eventually do stupid things . It is this colossal Arrogance why they may find themselves
facing a Lawsuit of 42 million dollars .

It is very obvious that even the threat of this lawsuit , has not tempered their arrogance . My take is that they are not broke , claiming that they are , is merely a charade that they are peddling
to the Public via their many friends in the Media .

The Mimic Men find that exceedingly hard to do . This is precisely why they are always at War with the Players . They relish doing that because they know that their many friends in the Media will support them on TV ; Radio & in the Local
Newspapers .

It is this Unholy alliance that is mainly responsible for state of Cricket in the Region . Their Friends in the Media love cranking up their propaganda machinery .

Sadly the General Public believe all the Crap that they Hear & Read from those who profess to be Sports Journalists .So that
everything is the fault of the Players .

The people in the Region need to stop
buying into this carefully crafted charade . It was not the Players that hauled the Guyana Cricket Board into the Court ; It was not the Players who decided not to be Incorporated .

It was not the Players who made former Sponsors of the Regional Tournaments leave . It is not the Players who mandated having a one week Camp before International encounters .

BTW these one week Camps were and are done with the full knowledge and understanding that :

People need to sober up ,and take a very hard look at the complete structure of Cricket in the Region . If they did that perhaps they would not become the willing Lemmings of those in the governance of Cricket in the Region , and their many friends in the Media .

The whole crisis would have been avoided if the players had refused to leave the region without a signed contract.

I understand that , but refusal to go perhaps would have been worse for the Players .But I do understand the point that you are making

Because they have gone on Tours before
without Contracts , my take is that they would have been worse off if they had stayed Home .

Staying Home would have given the Many Sports Journalists in the Region a Field Day in their criticism of the Players since I believe that they are the Propaganda machinery of the WICB .

It is my understanding that the Task Force is recommending that Players get their Contracts 3 weeks in advance . This
is a tacit acknowledgement that the Emperors were not exercising good business Practises . But then the WICB is really a Mickey Mouse Entity .

The fact that the Players went on the Tour with the belief that the WICB would do the Right thing exposed the chicanery
of the WICB . Also the undisputed FACT
that it was the WICB that cancelled the Tour . The Players had & have no power to cancel a Tour .

The fact that Cameron went to Dubai , and despite entreaties from the Players to come to India , in my opinion was the freaking last straw . But as I have stated in this Forum , by not going to India , Cameron & the WICB exposed themselves to being very culpable in this
matter ; much more so than the Players .

I have absolutely no doubt that if there
was an Independent Task Force ; it would have been very severe on Cameron & WICB .
My take is that this Task Force was quickly put together , to preempt the formation of an Independent Task Force .
