Joining the chorus of opposition against the dropping of Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Darren Sammy from the ODI series in South Africa, St Vincent and Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves has accused WICB president Dave Cameron for "dishonouring" the agreement that the players who abandoned the India tour in October would not be victimised.

According to Gonsalves he had organised a meeting as CARICOM representative to resolve the impasse arising out of West Indies' premature termination of the India tour. In addition to Cameron and himself, that meeting, held at the Hyatt Hotel in Trinidad on October 23, was attended by Bravo, West Indies Test captain Denesh Ramdin, Ralph Thorne, the players' legal counsel, West Indies Players Association president Wavell Hinds, and WIPA lawyer.

In a sternly worded two-paged letter sent on December 23, Gonsalves said Cameron had agreed that teams for the South Africa tour would be picked on "merit". Yet last week the West Indies selection panel, chaired by former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, appointed inexperienced 23-year-old fast bowler Jason Holder as the captain for the ODI side, indicating it was time to appoint a young leader.

Seriously people...bravo wasn't much of a captain. They should have kept Sammy in place. As it is, we need to move on to the youth to see if we can turn this bag of feces around.

I don't think the big issue is about Bravo per se but about the disrespect shown to the two Prime Ministers.

You make the two men and the office they hold look insignificant.

I am curious as to why WI PMs intervene in these affairs...I don't think David Cameron intervened when Kevin Pietersen was sacked or the Australian PM being involved when Symonds and Warner were sent home....

I was contrasting with leaders of "first world" counties who have "bigger fish to fry"...

Bravo sacking as captain IMO is not that unjust, as he cost the WICB 42 million dollars, most people would suffer the same consequence if they cost their employer that amount, the real issue is, after making the agreement not to punish the players the WICB seem to be going after the people they figure were the ringleaders in the dispute. The Board could be viewed as untrustworthy.

You need to enlighten me regarding what
you have stated ; because my understanding is that the BCCI received a letter from the WICB stating that the WICB was cancelling the Tour

You seem to be unaware of the fact that The Players on hearing about the terms of the contract prior to the first match being Played did not want to play .

However they were persuaded by the Indian Officials to Play the matches they played .
The BCCI was in communication with the
WICB and possibly believed that the Crisis
would be solved , and the Tour continued .

Cameron was in Dubai , and chose either of his own volition and or the advice of
others not to go to India to settle the matter .

Interestingly , the BCCI in its proposed
Lawsuit , made no mention of the Players culpability in its Lawsuit . It named the WICB .

From my understanding, the WICB, with Lloyd and Wavell in India being their spokesmen, were trying real hard for the Tour to continue, because they knew of the financial significance of the Tour. It was the Players and their lawyers after realizing how unfavorable the proposed new MOU was, that went ahead and aborted the Tour after the WICB refused to go back and operate under the old MOU as the players requested.
I think that is a summary of the matter.

Wavell Hinds was never in India at any time during the impasse.

He and Cameron were scheduled to arrive in India on the Tuesday after the tour was aborted to meet with the players.
