A place in history can either be good or bad. There is simply no room for middle ground. So when the history of West Indies cricket is finally written, the name Wycliffe Dave Cameron may become synonymous, with disaster, destruction and depravity of West Indies Cricket.

While not for the first time, a sitting West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president finds himself in the firing line, Cameron seems heading to be top of the list as the “Worst WICB president in history”. Not that this seems to matter much to Cameron, a man who appears consumed by power and prestige of a job, rather than the unification of the islands. In the most recent scenario where Dwayne Bravo was sacked as West Indies captain and several other players thrown to the side, Cameron has shown no remorse for angering not only the people of the region but also appearing to break a gentleman’s agreement with two Caribbean Prime Ministers, Dr Ralph Gonsalves (St Vincent) and Dr Keith Mitchell (Grenada).

While I understand the need to call a spade a spade ...he callin the man a FORK too...and thats uncalled for.

This is the type of drivel that drives the xenophobes. That Cameron might be a particularly unimpressive leader we might agree. But to make it an anti-Trini issue and to talk up the Trinis intellectual and principled leadership as opposed to all others is another.

I suppose there was no problem with Cameron whem Bravo was made ODI captain and Pollard was seen as the alternate; not to mention Ramdin´s elevation to the test captaincy.

It looks like Mr. Baptiste point of view is a little off center. However, the way the incident in India was handled by Cameron was not badly done. The dropping of the most effective ODI players in the region just before the World Cup was a bad idea IMO, but I could see why Bravo lost his captaincy.

WICB has always been the same but Players then were not mere puppets. Walsh stood up along with the team.

Unfortunate that Holder who stood along with the Leaders in India has decided it is good to desert them then they need him.

Exactly the problem with WICB... EGO.

Just a week after the task force calls for Building Trust and what WICB does, damages it further with this decision.

I dont mind Bravo being relieved off the Captaincy but as players WI has very little talent pool available. On LO cricket Narine, Gayle, Bravo had been very important. Instead of Building around them they want to rebuild again since these 3 are not under WICB control... Will WI win with these 3 guys? Maybe or may not be. But no one can disagree that these 3 along with the regulars can make the team much stronger with their experience. But why would WICB care? Afterall they get the assured money as long as a team in maroon is representing WI.

Control, Power is what all these guys want.

Haha, as much as I think Devious Dave is a quack, Andre Baptiste is a flake. The first two lines of that post are idiotic intellectually. There is no such thing as good or bad when it comes to a person's legacy or arguably life in general. In some areas we are good and others atrocious. So whilst Devious Dave ultimately may have caused the Indian ODI tour to be cancelled the fallout may have led to a good thing in allowing WI to recalibrate.

The man then went on to say that TT palyers are the most outspoken and under Lloyd, Murray was the intellectual compass of the team. Well he failed to mention than Lara was one of the more petulant players who wore the white for the WI and that Bravo is as intellectually gifted as his batting average is to his indispensability

I agree with the journalist. All that is needed now is for the fans to protest in front of the WICB HQ and for regional governments, starting in Port of Spain, to exert serious pressure on the local boards TO RESIGN- make their lives legally difficult if they won't resign. Use American legal tactics to get them to resign.

What improvement? Look past the insularity the journalist points are valid. This situation I supported the players 1000% as in my opinion the WICB and its approach would have to fundamentally change as a result.
