Whether the beleaguered but defiant incumbent Dave Cameron returned for a second term after yesterday's presidential WICB election or Joel Garner became the first Test player since Wes Hall in 2003 to head the organisation is largely immaterial to the overdue revival of an entity once the pride of its passionate public and envy of the rest of the world.

Over two decades, the game in the West Indies has plummeted from the paramount standing of teams led by Frank Worrell, Garry Sobers, Clive Lloyd and Viv Richards to virtual irrelevance, languishing in the lower reaches of the ICC table for Tests and ODIs.

On the eve of the latest election, a loss to India left them tottering on the cusp of first-round elimination of the World Cup in Australia. When he took up office in March 2013, Cameron was the sixth president since the turn of the 21st century; there have been seven chief executives in that time.

It's not a long shot by any means. To that I would add a total ban on all facilities, and that should be agreed to at a special CARICOM heads of Govt meeting. Once they agree to reorganize, only then would they be allowed to use any facilities again.

It aint Easter yet , but it seems that Tony Cozier has finally seen the Light . I however aint about to hold my breath .

For over a Decade I have been stating in this Forum some of the things that Cozier
is now stating .

Many in this Forum were & are very critical of what I have stated , but I never wavered
because , I knew & know that my assessment
of Cricket in the Region is Right .

As I have stated in this Forum for years
those in the governance of Cricket in the Region who call themselves Sports Journalists , wittingly or unwittingly
assisted , aided & abetted the WORST

Cozier quote Ms. Baskh , however weeks before that , I quoted in this Forum what the Judges in India told the BCCI . " THEY ARE THE CUSTODIANS OF A PUBLIC SPORT ".
They did not say OWNERS , they said
Custodians . That in my opinion also applies to the WICB .

l did not state this , but like Ms Baskh , I came to the same conclusion that she came to , that is the WICB & the ICC should be hauled into a Court of Law to answer charges regarding their Stewardships of Cricket .

My reasoning ; & I suppose Ms Baksh's reasoning also is that it is crystal that
it is only the Courts that can deal with these Monsters . So let us ALL GO THERE .

Some here have just had a Saul on the Road
to Damascus moment . I am delighted to see
that all those years that they have vilified
me ; criticized me , some of them are beginning to see the Light .

I always knew that my analysis of the Problems & solutions regarding Cricket in the Region were right . that is why I
was undeterred by those criticized me .

It is the blatant & naked Contemptuousness of those in the governance of Cricket in the Region that must be stopped , and the
International Cricket Cabal ,aka the ICC that must be hauled into Court , for allowing the Worst International Cricket Board in the World ,aka the WICB , to become a Rogue Cricket Board , and that is putting it mildly .

BTW , prior to the 2007 World Cup , when
the WICB was Lobbying the Regional Governments to build ; renovate ; & refurbish Stadia in the Region I stated in this very Forum that the Regional Governments needed to have them sign a legally binding document , stating that the
WICB would undergo structural Reforms .

I stated that because at the time the Regional Governments had the WICB over a barrel ; because it needed the support of the Regional Governments to make the 2007 World Cup a success .

The Regional Governments did all that needed to be done . Years later , the Regional Governments simply asked the WICB
to implement the changes suggest by the Patterson Report , the WICB ignored that
request , authorized the Wilkin Report , and then just as swiftly rejected that
Report . Their Arrogance has no freaking
Limits .

Sadly the Regional Governments coiled their Tails between their legs and remained silent . The Prime Minister of St. Lucia recently stated that all the Players who went to India be fired , evident his memory aint what it used to be , or he conveniently forgot about the Patterson & Wilkin Reports episodes .
He also forgot that there is a little BUT VERY IMPORTANT thing called DUE PROCESS .

Let me once again ask , WHO ARE THOSE IN

THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE REGION

ACCOUNTABLE TO ???????????????


Perhaps a Court of Law will be able to inform the General Public , whether the
WICB & the ICC can continue on their merry
way . There has to be a check on the excesses of both the WICB & the International Cricket Cabal , aka the ICC .
