HEADLINE: GAYLE BACK :Hard-hitting opener to have new partner

CaribbeanCricket.com Mar 19, 2015, 4:10:48 AM

There was no Chris Gayle at practice yesterday, but the good news is that the scan completed on his back has not shown any serious sign of injury and he should be ready for the quarterfinal against New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Gayle has been treating his back pains seriously, as he should, and the management team decided to send the champion left-handed batsman for a more intricate look at his chronic problem instead of training in the very windy weather at the Basin Reserve.

Fans gathered at the Reserve to watch the teams practice almost like they were coming to watch a match, but such has been the interest here in Wellington with the Kiwis obviously having full support.

After practice Gayle was spotted at the team hotel and when asked about how the scans went he replied: “Good man!” His colleague and the unofficial team mentor, Darren Sammy was also very upbeat and provided a newsy diagnosis saying his teammate had an injection.

Dwayne Smith will be benched, after scoring 93 runs in six matches for an average of 15.5 per innings. Overall in his career he still averages 18.8 with only one half century in his last 12 innings.

Wow!!!
Shame on you Dwayne!

...even Scammy is better.

can a rolls be compared to a ford focus?

Still, you notice those with a vested interest in the ford focus will always compare it to a Rolls but never the other way around?

If my ford focus gave me engine problems for 2 years, I can argue its a cheap car, I get what I pay for

if my rolls gave me engine problems for 2 years, I would be sitting in my lawyers office cause this is not what I paid big money for

Sammy on Cramps PR payroll wink

Nothing about fitting into hard working environment these days

JahJah Mar 19, 2015, 8:40:57 PM

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sammy defenders coming out of the woodwork. These vermin are never to be found when Sammy can't buy a wicket...even against minnows. I remember when these same vermin used to try and justify Sammy's place in the team at the expense of actual performers. I'll never forget how they tried to denigrate Andre Russell. With each match, Russell approaches Sammy's wicket output, having played less than HALF the matches of Sammy.

49 matches for 62 wickets vs 125 matches for 81!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet when Russell was always scoring more runs AND taking way more wickets, they didn't have any 'shots' to tickle Fuzzy's fancy. Instead they shut their mouths and hid until Russell had one bad match so that they could come here and justify Sammy's spot.

A Rolls that ain't wukking is no better dan an ordinary Ford Focus. Rather, I'd tek di Focus and dispense wid di status of a bruk down Rolls.

The Rolls' double ton, the only one in world cup history, gave us a superior run rate and enabled us to pip Ireland into the quarters. The selectors got something right thankfully.

That is probably fiction.

If there is one constant on this board is people will be quick to criticize certain people and never be critical towards others.

The day I see Cleg, JahJah and Jacksprat say something critical about Gayle and/or a Jamaican I know the world coming to an end.
The day I see ninemiles, cuter, and allan say something positive about Gayle I know the world coming to an end.

I will look for BatQuake and my bible.

Yow if the so-call Rolls was scoring we wud not need to worry about a superior run rate to Ireland of all teams.

Smh

If our bowlers did their job we would not have lost to Iteland. One batsman cannot carry this team...not even Sangakara!
