WICB chief executive Michael Muirhead said on Tuesday the board would send a delegation to India with the main objective of negotiating a settlement which would be amicable, and would satisfy all parties, reports CMC.

"It could be that they could ask that instead of playing the Test matches that they play some more ODIs...it’s a matter of negotiations," Muirhead said.

"We have not gotten to sit down with them but we are planning for a delegation to go...and not just be high-handed and go in saying this is who we are bringing, sort of amenable to sitting down and letting us have reasonable negotiations.”

Wouldn't it have been a whole lot better, to say to the cricketers during the impasse in India, to continue with the tour and the WICB will reinstate your fees to what existed before the new WICB/WIPA Agreement and seek to find a mutual settlement of the dispute moving forward?

That's why the BCCI put the blame for that abandoned tour on the WICB and not the players. They saw the WICB ignoring an obvious and very simple solution.

And, of course, Big Bravo was sharing all of the behind-the-scenes goings on with his buddy Dhoni and those communications turned into a two-way channel. So when Tricky Dick Pybus approached the BCCI and requested that it threaten to terminate the IPL contracts of the WI players, the players found out about it almost immediately.

We should never have had to be hatching plans to pay for such an unforced error in the first place.

Look, when someone in a position of authority is found responsible for an unpardonable transgression they should pay the price.

By all means, solve the problem in the most cost effective manner but also let the person(s) who caused the problem be contrite and apologize for having caused the problem.

This is what effective leadership is all about.

When Dave Cameron apologizes to Caribbean people for his bungling in a sincere manner, then and only then will De Courtesy move on.

I haven't read all posts on the thread, so I don't know whether my sentiments coincide with any previously stated.

Should this expedition materialize into something positive, like accomplishing the stated objective of strengthening ties among other things, let's hope that as a group we return to the subject and bestow the earned accolades on not only the conception of the idea, but the actors as well.

Let us all be crystal clear , Dave Cameron
could not be the President of the WICB if the Regional Boards Presidents and their
Deputies did not Vote for him .

If you look in the Weeds , you will discover that the Reason that Cameron & Wavell Hinds were reelected handily , is due to the fact
that both of them engineered a successful COUP , and captured WIPA for the WICB .

You in town too long to limit the issue to election of a President. Governance is key, Cameron knows where the edge is located and will operate to suit. How many sub-committees have not met during his tenure because he has usurped their authority.
The first Digicel contract is a classic of how not to operate, it is probably the most significant 3rd party transaction, yet shrouded in mystery. Best practice would have the board being briefed on pro & cons, incremental revenues streams, restrictive covenants etc etc. Same thing when television rights were sold to insiders.

Forbes Burnham ones said something to the effect that an incumbent only loses if he wants to. Cameron and Wavell were able to hijack the process when they saw the tide changing, more power to them. Let us see how they govern, first test and the rumblings already started, barmy army unhappy, Antigua questioning wisdom of Monday start and lack of promotion, will they recover their investment. Business as usual it is not.

Man, what a letdown. After establishing standards with the Doctors Hunte, Peters, Hilaire, Beckles, how could they continue to elect such morons armed only with the equivalent of a GCE 'O' level education to such high profile positions thereby continuing to embarrass a proud region's people?

since they delivered WIPA to the WICB .
