A ruling by the Supreme Court in India aimed at shaking-up the administration of cricket there should give fresh momentum to moves for radical changes to the operations of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Charles Wilkin, former chairman of the governance committee for West Indies Cricket has said.

The Supreme Court has suspended two franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for two years over a corruption scandal and had recommended changes to make the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) more transparent.

In an article circulated across the Caribbean, Wilkin has accused WICB administrators of deliberately refusing to introduce the changes needed in the region for personal reasons.

“The same changes are badly needed in this region. The WICB has itself recognized that, but does not like the consequences for its clique of administrators hence has backed away,” said Wilkins in his article.

“The verdict of the supreme Court of India should give fresh impetus to the move for change here”.

My hat is off to Mr. Wilkin , WE are of
the same opinion regarding the Worst
International Cricket Board in the World aka the WICB .

I really like Mr. Wilkin's ranting , it seems that persons who are critical of those in the governance of Cricket are
deemed to be ranting . Welcome to the Club , Mr. Wilkin .

Another often used word by the Supporters of the WICB is emotional ,
its Agents in this Forum , believe
that stating a person is emotional invalidates what they write .

I have news for them , it only confirms the fact that not only are they Agents of the WICB , they and their Handlers are getting desperate .
In this forum , long before Mr. Wilkin's recent remarks , I stated that the Supreme Court in India told
the BCCI that:

" IT WAS NOT THE OWNER OF CRICKET

IN INDIA ; IT WAS THE CUSTODIAN

OF CRICKET IN INDIA ".


I believe that this also applies to
the WICB ; As I have stated in this Forum before , where was the ICC , the WICB , when the Government of Guyana hauled the Guyana Cricket Board to Court ???

The ICC edict that Governments cannot intervene in Cricket is simply a lot of B.S . Governments can and should intervene if they have probable cause to do so .

The ICC ; the WICB ; & the Regional Boards aint above the Law . So they can be hauled into Court to answer charges .

Some time ago , I stated in this Forum that on 4 separate occasions , the President of Pakistan , sacked the Pakistan Cricket Board , appointed a Chairman & Officials to run Cricket in Pakistan ,until there was new Elections for the Offices on the Pakistan Cricket Board ; where was the freaking ICC ??????????????

Wikipedia is a wonderful thing ; the only thing is that Governments cannot do , is to run Cricket forever . So
Cameron & the Board may believe that they can do anything with impunity ; but they aint off the hook yet .

Mr. Wilkin is calling for TRANSPARENCY , I have been ranting , as my Critics suggest; about that in this Forum for years .

Most of what Mr. Wilkin was ranting about , I have stated in this Forum , so I am please that Mr. Wilkin has joined the ranks of the Ranters .

The Regional Governments need to stop dealing with those in the governance of Cricket in the Region with kid gloves .

Doing that makes them , along with most of the Sports Journalists in the
Region willing Tools of the Worst International Cricket Board in the World .

Imagine commissioning the Lucky Report ; the Patterson Report ; the
Wilkin Report , and the WICB could not find at least ONE recommendation that it could accept .

But the Truth is that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region ,
love the current structure as it is ;
They are deathly afraid that changes to the Structure is gong to loosen their power & Grip of Cricket in the Region .

They simply do not give a fig , that
Cricket in the Region is Regressing ,
their only concern is that the Structure remains the same , an their
power is never diluted .

The WICB & THE REGIONAL BOARDS currently are answerable to no One in the World . It is also crystal clear
that the International Cricket Cabal ,does not give a damn regarding the
lack of good governance continuously demonstrated by the WICB .

LET ME ONCE AGAIN STATE THAT THE WICB

DOES NOT OWN CRICKET IN THE REGION IT

IS ONLY THE CUSTODIAN OF CRICKET IN

THE REGION .

BTW , if speaking the TRUTH is Ranting I willingly plead Guilty .Mr.
Wilkin is a well known Lawyer who has attained the highest accolade in his
Profession he is a Q.C .

Is this the same Wilkin of the famous Wilkin report that the WICB pissed on?

I also noticed of late that a number of journalist throughout the region are beginning to touch on many of the issues you relentlessly highlighted for years on this board.

Seems like your efforts are beginning to pay off.

By the way, on another thread I asked you to elaborate on two statements you made.

Not sure what you are implying in that post. Do you want the WICB to make changes or do you want them to conduct business as usual?

It seems to me that they all have had a Saul on the Road to Damascus moment .
So now their modus operandi is to jump off the Sinking Ship .

But as they say :

" ONE SWALLOW DOES NOT A SUMMER MAKE "

They must become Ranters , and continuously be critical of those in the governance of Cricket in the Region , when they do Stupid things ,
I have not heard any of them describe the WICB'S behaviour , regarding the
India Tour as being Reckless .

Neither have I heard them stating that it is essential that there are harmonious relations between the Players & the WICB .

I have no idea whether or not my efforts are paying off , but I have been consistent saying more or less that there must be very serious changes in the whole structure of Cricket in the Region .

I have been describe in this Forum as being a ranter , and some laugh at what I write , Some say I am emotional , Frankly I really don't give a Crap what they think , I just want them to tell me what I state that is untrue .

Regarding the WICB , it has been an abysmal failure for many years , that
is an undisputed fact , there is an abundance of evidence to prove that fact .

I would like All entities associated with & including the WICB to undergo serious Structural changes .My idea
is that The new Entity in the governance of Cricket in the Region must NOT be called the WICB , to have credibility in the Region & in the World .

The name WICB is well known for Arrogance ; Incompetence ; Ineptness
and a total lack of Business Acumen .
ALL these characteristics have not &
cannot attract Sponsors .

I want One Entity governing Cricket in the Region ; but it should have two Departments . A Cricket Department , which will be governed by former great Players , they will deal with all matters pertaining to Cricket .

I am of the opinion that the former great Players than were in the governance of the shortest version of the game , did a fine job
in their stewardship of the game .

Then there will be an Administrative
Department , to deal with all other matters , Obviously it will have the general compliment of Officers , President ; VP , Treasurer ; Asst Treasurer ; Secretary ; Asst Secretary etc .

findings of all these Reports .

Time is of the essence if Cricket in the Region is to be saved . That being the case it is essential that by next year this freaking time changes MUST BE IN PLACE .

It makes absolutely no sense giving them anymore time . Time is freaking UP .

Their colossal Arrogance , Incompetence ; Ineptness ; lack of Business Acumen , has brought Cricket
in the Region to a new Low . Aided &
abetted by Sports Journalists who for years said not a word of criticism about them ; and also supported on their path to destroying Cricket in the Region by the International Cricket Cabal .

I find it interesting that the ICC can crack the whip on the USA Cricket Association , but say nary a word to those in the governance of Cricket in the Region .
