THE Independent Review Panel of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) Sub-Committee on Cricket Governance has recommended that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) be disbanded and an interim committee installed to run the affairs of cricket in the region, the Jamaica Observer can report.
The review panel submitted the report to Caricom last week after three months of consultations, during which it also conducted interviews and held deliberations. It was chaired by principal of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, Professor V Eudine Barriteau, and included president of the Caribbean Court of Justice Sir Denis Byron, former Trinidad & Tobago and West Indies cricketer Deryck Murray, president of the Caribbean Development Bank Dr Warren Smith, and president of the Grenada Cricket Association Dwain Gill. It worked through the Guyana-based Caribbean Community Secretariat.

If the WICB evver takes this advice, which is unlikely, that would then bring about the opportunity to implement the Patterson Report with regards to governance....

This latest report will go the way of all the other reports preceding it: placed on a shelf gathering dust while the WICB gives nothing but lip service of how much it is 'deliberating' its content.

Not sure because if something is not done and urgently, territories will withdraw on their own. This crap cannot continue.

I believe that the Regional Governments
have decided to make a stand regarding Cricket in the Region , because they are of the view that fragmentation , and this Go It Alone B.S ; cannot work
for any of the Countries in the Region .
Obviously the Rotten Stewardship of the WICBC for decades is also an important
Factor in the decision to discipline the WICBC by recommending its removal
from the governance of Cricket in the
Region .
My question to the Region Governments
is this :
WHAT THE HELL TOOK YOU SO LONG ???
It isn't like yesterday that the WICBC became a Rogue Cricket Board , it has been a Rogue Cricket Board
for Decades .
I came to the conclusion that the ICC
aint have as much power , as it claims to have , when I read , in the formation of the Pakistan Cricket Board , via Google the following fact .
On 4 separate occasions the President of Pakistan fired the Pakistan Cricket Board ; and on each occasion , he appointed a Chairman , and an Interim Ad Hoc Committee to govern Cricket in Pakistan .
I gathered that Governments cannot run Cricket Forever , but they can intervene , and have an Interim Cricket Board until there are fresh Elections .
The WICBC & the ICC , have a lot of Power , but in a Court of Law all that power they possess aint worth Penny . Why did the WICBC & the ICC
go into Court and file an Amicus Brief in Support of the Guyana Cricket Board , instead of being outside muttering to themselves ???
They need to stop bamboozling people
by stating that Governments cannot intervene in Cricket . When they Spout that B.S , they are implying that they are free to do whatever they want , in the Region . That aint
True .
The WICBC cannot commission several
Reports ; and swiftly discard them .
Doing that is perpetrating a Charade
on the People in this Region .
I firmly believe that the WICBC has refused to implement changes recommended by these various Reports , because they are fearful of losing
some of their power . This alone , in my opinion is a good reason why the
WICBC must be removed from the governance of Cricket in the Region .
It would indeed be interesting to know what is the ICC's take on the above . I would really like to know if the ICC , believes that the WICBC
can commission several Reports and swiftly dismiss these Reports and continue business as usual .
My recommendation , is that the Regional Governments need to also get an answer from the International Cricket Cabal , aka the ICC regarding the Matter , of the WICBC ignoring the very Reports that it Commissioned .

I seriously doubt that this Report is going to die a swift Death , there are many eminent Persons on the Committee ,
I do not think that Chief Justice Dennis Byron , the President of the Caribbean Court of Justice , can be considered a Lightweight , nor the other Members of the Committee .
As I have state elsewhere in this Forum
Our Players & Team are currently on Tour , playing against Sri Lanka , & then Australia , It is very doubtful that our Team is going to win a Series , and some , if not all the matches are going to be one sided .
Obviously this is going to reflect NEGATIVELY on the Stewardship of the WICBC . BTW , the matter regarding
Phil Simmons aint exactly settled , so I expect this to also resurface ,
& also negatively against Cameron &
the WICBC .
These no doubt are going to add fuel to the Fire regarding the removal of the WICBC from the governance of Cricket in the Region .
