Narine reported for suspect bowling action - Cricket News Narine was reported third ODI against Sri Lanka.West Indies bowler Sunil Narine has been reported with a suspect bowling action during the third ODI against Sri Lanka, which the home side won by 19 runs in Pallekele on Saturday. The match officials’ report, which was handed over to the West Indies team management after the match, cited concerns about the legality of the 27-year-old’s deliveries. Narine’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Narine is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known. Narine will have to undergo a test on his bowling action in 14 days, but until then he can still bowl.
Is the manager,
Richie Richardson, even aware of this or does he have first consultant the match referee for clarification?

2.2.8 In the event of the Player failing to submit to the Independent
Analysis as required above, such failure will be regarded as an
admission that he bowls with an Illegal Bowling Action and he
shall be immediately suspended from bowling in International
Cricket until such time as he so submits and satisfactorily participates
in an Independent Analysis.

Not surprised,was watching Narine in the last few games,same old,same old..nothing has changed with his action....this has to put a question mark on his career...most of the "mystery" deliveries that he bowls cannot be done without chucking....it's almost lmpossible to rehabilitate a chucked...

General comment...
can any bowler who has been bowling one way for 10 years or more since starting as a youngster
really change in a few weeks of testing and practice? I thing they will inevitably automatically revert to prior habits. To quote Xfidx,"Once a flinger always flinger"
