The dispute between Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) based trio Rayad Emrit, Kevon Cooper and Evin Lewis and Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suruj Ragoonath surrounding the termination of their 2015/16 TTCB retainer contracts is set for arbitration with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) taking up the matter.

Emrit, Cooper and Lewis, speaking to Newsday before leaving and during their current stints in the BPL have maintained that before the 2015/16 Professional Cricket League (PCL) commenced, Ragoonath told them in a meeting that any Twenty20 leagues that came up during the season, the players would be allowed to compete with no indication their retainers would be compromised.

Also contrary to what the TT CB has stated, they never wanted to relinquish their contracts but were rather forced to give it up and accept a pay for play contract on their return from Bangladesh.

Which of the two articles is de more credible? Vinod Mamchan's or Colin Benjamin's? BTW I support the TTCB....pay fuh play suit them fine...no double dipping!

I know the WICB get a cut fuh IPL not sure about this BPL...can you confirm that WICB get a percentage and if they do, what percentage is passed on to the Regional Franchise?

What's wrong with WI cricket .... Almost everything.

The purpose of the PCB and retainer contracts is to provide income in off periods so that a players can focus on his development and not seek other employment.

We have players that want off time during the season ... No way:

November to April is a No NOC period, so if you don't want to play regional cricket take your T20 money and go.

We are taking our useless unproductive civil servant mentality into sports.

If they had agreed on a oral commitment and gone for ahead with the trip then they have no leg to stand.

But what TTCB has done is right logically.

If its CPL to get money for BPL... Evin Lewis plays for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Ryad Emrit for Barbados Tridents for CPL but both play for the T&T Red Force for PCL. Its the T&T Red Force who is missing their services in the PCL, not the CPL.. so the CPL franchise still have to get the cut?
