HEADLINE: Sir Andy Recommends Lengthy Hiatus For Narine

Former national and West Indies fast bowler Sir Andy Roberts believes that spinner Sunil Narine should consider taking a hiatus from international cricket.
Sir Andy, also a former West Indies selector, suggests that the Trinidadian should think about taking at least two years off to correct his illegal bowling action.
“If you are going to overcome pelting, you can’t do it in 15 days, you can’t do it in two months, you can’t do it in six months because you have been playing cricket for the greater part of your life. Narine is about 29 or 30, so he must have been playing from since he was about 18 or 19 and using the same action,” he said.
“I would say if Narine wants to come back then he has to forget about First Class cricket for at least two or three years, because you have to repeat all of those deliveries so he can get accustomed to doing it.”

Andy was another who was convinced there was a conspiracy. Instead of giving that advice 3-4 years ago we are here now.
I hope they pull Beaton now.

TriniD does not see how taking ah 2 year break will necessarily solve de problem. Eventually Narine has tuh bowl right? And de only way tuh know dat he is "fixed" is if he bowls consistently.

Narine is about 29 or 30
Cmon, man.
Sunil Philip Narine is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays for the West Indies in all forms of the game. Primarily an off-spin bowler, he is also a left-handed batsman.
Born: May 26, 1988 (age 27), Arima, Trinidad and Tobago

Narine should file a lawsuit against all who tested him and against the WICB and ICC.
Why?
It seems everyone is against him except people on d internet.
WICB is so not up to being aggressive defending their players.

I disagree with Andy. If according to him Narine is 29-30, though his correct age according to cricinfo is 27,taking a 2-3 year break will take him to 32-33 yrs, and at that age to think of starting all over again, is like telling him to call it a day.
I agree Narine is going to have a lot of work to do but with hard work and determination, he should be able to correct his action. What is not known is, how would his new action affect him? Will he be able to continue to trouble batsmen and take wickets?

I thought I was the only one seeing Beaton. They should have helped the young man correct his action long before he made his first class debut. That Matthew guy from the windward also seem to have a suspicious action to me.
The WICB should try to identify young players at an early age, and try to correct funny actions before they get into first class cricket.
