HOBART, Tasmania – The management of the West Indies team today announced that fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has been ruled out of the ongoing Test Series against Australia in Australia.
The 27-year-old suffered a stress reaction in left ankle bone while bowling in the first innings of the first Test match at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart. He will return to Trinidad in the coming days to continue his rehabilitation.
A replacement player will be named in the coming days.

I think Walsh should go.
Since he is one of the main obstructionists of progress on this Administration.
He could go and both him and talkathon Ambrose could both play in d second test. Their bowlers they picked for this tour are all amateurish and garbage.
While they are at it maybe LLOYD could replace Chanderpaul in d middle because again this team was picked on an imaginary vision so he better clean it up or he will suffer Otis 's fate.

Name your replacement from a very lean list of contenders. Stoute, Joseph, Cummins, Tonge and Matthew are at the top with only a handful of wickets.

Whoever goes will be slaughtered and mentally traumatized. No young prospect should be subjected to this abuse. Joseph and Cummins are the future, and should be groomed for a home series in 2016.
Send one of Stoute, Tonge or Matthew....

None of these players have the class to beat Australia. The captain should first of all get rid of Samuels, he is bad for team chemistry. Have the team focus on doing the simple things right. The bowlers should focus on containment and let the Australians lose patience. Set defensive fields, our bowlers not good enough to bowl great batting teams.

I want someone who can put 6 balls on a spot. Matthew wins hands down with a 1.56 econ.

Um not a bad choice. However I heard that Cummins is in the running and they say Lloyd likes Chase although he seems a long shot

That ankle was troublesome before he left. Anyone watching regional series could see the man was struggling.

Need cover for Ramdin, Blackwood and Chandrika. Would not be first time the replacement was not like for like. Make no sense playing 5 bowlers if you will bowl once because this team will find it hard to make 300 runs.

In reply to doosra we need an opening bat, any replacement bowler is unlikely to play.

Darling, that was reported on Mason and Guests. They also said that he is named as a replacement should a middle order batsman get injured.

Commentary in Trinidad said that Gabriel is not ready for Test cricket . If one looks at a pattern he gets injured at the start of an away series . This does not bode well for fitness or player management . That said he needs to get more movement and consistency .
