The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has rejected a request from the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (T&TCB), owners of the Red Force, to allow embattled off-spinner Sunil Narine to take part in the upcoming Nagico Super50 series that will be played in T&T and St Kitts from January 7. 
Narine has been banned from bowling by the International Cricket Council (ICC), who deemed his bowling action to be illegal. Narine, who bowled this country to the Nagico title this season with figures of six wickets for nine runs, recently failed a test on his bowling action at the Loughborough University testing centre in England.

No the ICC said if his board the WICB allows him to play IN THEIR TOURNAMENTS he can play. So what is the WICB's gripe?

They as his representative to the ICC should be the first to help him regain his place among the bowlers as he has a lot of potential.

I have been saying for years. The WICB has a hidden and dark agenda.

It is slowly coming to fruition.

I think they are doing just that, help him to regain his place as a bowler by not allowing him to play until he has done the rehab work, tested and cleared...

Do you think if Narine was at the BBL he would be playing in the domestic competition?

this (WICB) organization dont know their ass from their mouth so they dont event know what crap will spew when they open their mouth.


However, if Trinidad show remidation is taking place and there is good reason to play Narine as part of that rehab process then by all means that should be taken into consideration.

In fairness to other team, WICB tacking on the ball... Them should also award de last championship to us Muddies...

Neither Marlon or Shane were allowed to bowl in domestic cricket until they passed their tests. How difficult is that to comprehend?

I understand why Trinidad want him to play but sometimes you have to plan a bobol better than that.

The man was called by Int'l Cricket umps in an Int'l series and you want him to play regional cricket?
How is that different from WADA announcing your urine test positive for a banned substance and getting banned by the IAAF yet want to run in your home country trials?

I want to also see the WICB test known pelters why they play in the competition so as to ensure that batsman will not have to face unfair deliveries.

Totally agreed. He shouldn't be allowed to bowl for QPCC or any other club either until his bowling action is deemed legal by the ICC

So Narine who hardly wanted to jeopardize his T20 gig by playing for windies somehow now find the local competition more than appealing, to the point that he is requesting to be allowed to pelt locally. How things have changed.

All thats left is Beach cricket Narine.......cant bowl here there everywhere...so try Maracas until u get tested.

Seems thats the beach may b the only place our ICC compliant WICB will allow him to play. I noticed that not even for future reference, have they asked for or queried the findings per this case.......pure obedience...

It would seem to me that we have ample precedents from which to guide us on Narine. If Shilly, Samuels etc weren't allowed to bowl in our domestic competition after they were called, than neither should Narine. If, however, they were allowed to bowl while remedying thei action, then the WICB will have to answer as to why Narine is being treated differently.

No. Shilly was banned in November 2013 during the NZ tour. He was tested again in early March 2014 and cleared after working with Vasbert Drakes. His first match for the Windwards was at the end of March.... or at least that is how I remembered it.

If the ICC says that then they are contradicting themselves. That it means that Sunil is bowling. It is for the clueless people like you and the WICB TO GO AND CHECK OUT THE MAN'S ACTION.

Request the tapes from the tests from various centers that tested him and analyze him themselves. Do we hear or read that/ No they just play big boss and say no.

WICB should have called in Narine for testing already. Only problem is we have no specialist bowling "team' to analyze Sunil or Shilly or Marlon etc.
So they just say no to the man.
