MELBOURNE—West Indies team management have rejected media reports here that they have banned noted Trinidadian journalist Fazeer Mohammed from conducting player interviews.
Several news outlets reported Monday that the experienced Mohammed, currently attached to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) commentary team for the three-Test tour, had been blacklisted over recent comments he made which were critical of the embattled Windies.
However, in a media release late Monday, the Windies team management said that no member of ABC’s commentary team had been barred from conducting interviews with players.

Know this: When you play against Australia and England, you also play against their media.
I believe they have got worse since WI sank to the bottom of the cricketing pile.

I believe Mohammed; he was banned. The WICB can go quibbling over semantics because it lacks credibility.
It not as if the WICB doesn't have a history of banning its critics, and later being careless with the truth.
Gayle, Bravo & Pollard, et al, were never "banned" they just were not selected, under pressure from the Board. The Board is therefore able to punish players-or marginalize its detractors-without going through the formality of taking them before its emasculated "Disciplinary Committee" for a fair hearing.

It is quite possible that Simmons imposed the bn to illustrate the absurdity of the WICBC , treatment to him , when he spoke and was penalized .
Simmons was making very sure that he was not in any hot water with the WICBC by allowing Fazeer to speak to the Players .
Perhaps it may have been a combination of both of the above .
The end result is that Simmons made absolutely sure that he in no way could be accused of violating any of
the WICBC Rules .
