West Indies have claimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20 rankings after Sri Lanka, who had largely occupied the top rung since they won the World T20 in 2014, were caned by New Zealand in Auckland on Sunday. West Indies have 118.36 rating points, and are now marginally ahead of both Sri Lanka and Australia who have exactly 118 rating points each.

Well we will be one of the best in the three formats. Let's count our blessings!!!
A lot of other teams will never be number 1 in any format!!!

You are a very perceptive Guy , but
most of the praise must go to the Cricket Board of former Great Players who were in charge of the shortest version of the game in the Region .
You will never ever hear any of the so called Sports Writers in the Region laud their efforts . You will never ever hear the WICBC acknowledge this fact .
The fact is that when Other International Cricket Boards embraced
Twenty / 20 Cricket , the WICBC did
not embrace this format of the game ,
it farmed it out to Stanford , who
not knowing anything about Cricket ,
gave the Reins to the Former Great
Players who ran the Tournaments in this version of the game .

Well, it is the most lucrative....
But my question for the WICB is this - what plans are there for the WI T20 team to play matches ahead of the World T20 champs? Or are we going to wait until we get to India, and try to get things together at the warm-up matches there?
Sammy was critical of the WICB in SL, bemoaning the fact that the WICB have not arranged any T20 series between that tour in the autumn, and the World T20 champs in the spring. He said, thank God for the Big Bash, otherwise our players would not be playing T20 cricket. But that's only for half of our squad. The other half will be rusty in this format by the time they get to India....

History is repeating itself, right before our eyes
Truly the WICB haven't leant from their mistakes and therefore are doomed to a repeat
We are number one
The board is doing little to nothing to develop the youth coming through in this format
The established players are being persecuted
The atmosphere is toxic
No development of current talent
We enter another World Cup with only hope, and failure means blames the stars
