This happens all the time and is usually resolved when the legal teams sort things out.

You maybe haven't followed this character but this was the same dude whose staff wrote IPL cricketers to ask them to stand with them because whilst they were getting paid Kingfisher staff hadn't been paid in months.

It will come crashing down one day but it's folks in India who will take the hit.

After all Stanford pretty much invented T20 as a commercial sport and the show goes on whilst he gets knocked about in prison. Only thing is Mallya is unlikely to take jail.

The issue is "willful defaulter". This is an intentional with-holding of payments because of a disagreement between the parties concerned.

The defaulter in this instance has the liquidity to meet all his financial needs.

That term is used every single day in business disputes and sometimes the dispute is something quite petty.
