ESPNcricinfo is carrying the news that the BCCI's new administration has dropped the Indian board's demand for $42 million in damages arising from the aborted West indies tour of India in 2014. 
"That is now sorted out because they are going to come back and play here next year," said BCCI president Shashank Manohar. "They have to complete those [unfinished] games. That was a claim raised by the board. [We] would be satisfied by them coming and playing here."

I predicted before that the $42 mill would have been dropped prior to the Indian tour, people on the board thought that it would never happen. Well despite all the negativity surrounding the WICB, and we blame both players and the WICB for getting us into that mess but we also have to give Cameron some props for working towards getting us out of that financial situation.

I would like You to explain , the
remarkable conversion of at least one if not all 3 of the Representatives of
the WICBC in the joint CARICOM / WICB
were apparently persuaded by the other 2 Members of the Committee to
state that the WICBC must be dissolved .

Now I know that this fact has been glossed over by the WICBC itself , and its Spin Doctors , and its Supporters here and in the Media .

My perspective , is that this was & is a serious indictment of the WICBC , because it infers that the two Representatives not appointed by the WICBC , were able to persuade at least one ,if not all of the Representatives of the WICBC to agree
that the WICBC must be dissolved .

FYI , the CARICOM / WICBC Committee
consisted of 5 Members , 3 were appointed by the WICBC . Obviously
the majority ,in numerical numbers were appointed by the WICBC . Yet the Panel voted that the WICBC must be dissolved .

In essence the WICBC was handed a Vote of No Confidence by the Panel ,
now this is a fact not Fiction ; and
cannot be washed or wished away .

If the WIBC goes, the case against it goes. When a new entity takes over a business, you can't file suit against them. Many entities avoid this by pretending to disappear but are merely changing their official names.

Do they have any credibility in determining that the WICB be dissolved? You cannot have a Kangaroo Panel recommending that the WICB be dissolved especially when members on that Committee are questionable at best!
Too many people/Groups have ulterior malign motives in seeing the dissolution of the WICB..
They cannot be taken seriously..

In the real world - a world without jherri curl septuagenarians- you tend to head off a crisis before it starts. So on the one hand the India threaten WI with a law suit to the tune of $42 mil. Never going to happen. On the other hand they say we can work out something but we don't want to deal with DD, we can deal with someone with standing. That is good for the WI cos they get to settle this crap once and for all and foot and mout disease DD does not have to be involved.

They decide Sobers has legendary status plus the Indians want to take a few photos and talk shop. Sobers goes, cries for the camera, laments about WI cricket and the deal is struck with tentative dates to be agreed.

AT LEAST ONE OF THE 3 MEMBERS APPOINTED

BY THE WICBC WERE PERSUADED TO STATE

THAT THE WICBC MUST BE DISSOLVED .

The fact is that rather than the WICBC's 3 members persuading the other 2 members to joining them in
Supporting the WICBC . However the
opposite happened .

This fact cannot be spinned by the
WICBC or its Spin Doctors in the Media or in this Forum .
