HEADLINE: BBL teams show keen interest in Carlos Brathwaite

THE most explosive six-hitter in world cricket could be headed to Sydney.
In a move that would turn the city into a Caribbean kingdom, the Sixers are chasing Carlos Brathwaite, the ice-man who created history last month when he won West Indies the World Cup final by smashing four consecutive sixes in the final over.
Should the Sixers win the race to sign the hulking all-rounder, it would pit Brathwaite directly against Thunder dynamo Andre Russell in a cross-Sydney West Indies rivalry that would light up the BBL.
Currently on an IPL deal with the Delhi Daredevils worth nearly $1 million, Brathwaite is undoubtedly the hottest property in Twenty20 cricket right now – a Windies superstar with all the flair of Chris Gayle, but without the ego.

Someone just had to take a dig at Chris Gayle. However I hope that youngsters see Carlos's instant fame as an indication that this cricket thing can bring instant fame and fortune. I hope that the most talented athletes, start lining up to play.

I think that at age 27, having recovered from a serious knee operation and having some shoulder problems, that he should take a leaf out of Andre Russel's book and concentrate on T-20.
He is a big guy, and if he insists in playing all three forms of the game, he is likely to shorten his career. Also it is difficult to excel at all three forms, so focusing on one, might definitely increase his skill set in that area.

Not to worry, his increased T-20 demand in conjuction with the WICB's intransigence will ensure that he only plays the one format ..very soon..

I totally disagree.
When I first watched Carlos playing for the Samuels led dottie team, I thought he was the biggest egotist due to his reactions to directives. I only got over it when I saw how good he really was and noting the fact that it's customary for people of such talent to be somewhat cocky.

That's a seriously unfair assessment if you are talking about directives from Marlon Samuels. Show me the red-blooded individual with half a brain in his head wouldn't get frustrated with Marlon.

Apparently Carlos doesn't agree. Recall his attribute to Marlon after his T20 WC finals heroics.
Maybe that's why he is poised to become a superstar and you remain without logic.

By the way you should follow another post on here from openning - identifies Rahul Dravid as his cricketing hero. Clearly Carlos is a smart guy, a diplomatic and politically savvy. Did you realize that he has started his own bat brand? This fella ain't about chasing every skirt and clamping his feet on press conference tables.

You need to do justice to your handle.
Marlon, Carlos' senior batting partner, directed him (or advised him if you prefer) to 'swing'. Carlos heeded, and what a payoff!
Now, did anyone mention captain?

And that is why Marlon with all his talent ain't going nowhere near superstar status.

Not interested.
My only interest in Carlos is his cricket prowess.

In reply to Drapsey Now your exposing yourself to be a bit of a foo foo. 19 rund to get in one over. I don't what schooling Marlon got but Carlos went Cawmere. He didn't need Marlon to "direct" him to swing. You so accustomed to these fellas being such cruded braggards that just because a guy is gracious and shows some humility (in other words, he did what intelligent people do) in victory you take that as an indicator that he needed guidance.

In reply to Logic... well all I am seeing is that because you feel Marlon has no sense then there is no way he could offer guidance to Carlos ... okay!

doesnt these digs at Chris remind you of how the haters came after Ali?
it was only the enlightened and years of hindsight that got people to be aware that Alis mouthings went far beyond just the jokes and bragging.
