Cricket fever is about to take over Guyana! Firstly on the field with the tri-nation series and Caribbean Premier League. Off the field WICB & CARICOM are in town for board meetings and the CARICOM cricket sub-committee will make a cataclysmic decision on whether they can or won’t disband the WICB, as many observant fans, media and former legendary players want.
Are Guyanese cricket fans ready to stand up for players who won’t be selected for tri-series?
Is the Guyana cricket media ready to call out WICB President Dave Cameron for failing to solve the GCB cricket crisis?
Are the Guyana government and sports ministry ready to stand with CARICOM?
After many local fans would have obviously celebrated greatly after the men won the T20 world cup title by now it should have dawned that half of that squad won’t be in Guyana next month.
For anyone still unaware according to intransigent and ridiculous WICB selection policies, players such Darren Sammy, Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo are definitely ineligible – possibly too also Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine.

If any of the young cricketers in upcoming tours do well the WICB will take credit (through territorial boards)for their development.

Do they expect to sit around while coaches and players work oat their game?

It never ever ceases to amaze me that
Sports Journalists in the Region are
as Dead as Door Nails .

Always it is the contributions of persons not in the Media who have had
& have the testicular fortitude to
state Truth to Power .

The Author of this article has once again prove the point that I have
consistently made in this Forum ; that
many of those in the Sports Media , especially in Cricket , seem to have been , and seem to be castrated by
the Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth ; aka the WICBC .

It seems to me that 99.9% of persons whose articles appear in Newspapers
are never written by those in the Region who profess to be Sports Writers ; but in actuality fear to
speak Truth to Power .

You may not know this but workplace have codes of conduct, policies, rules and regulations. As employees journos have to deal with facts and cannot speculate or opinionate as you and other freelance writers do...

His Blind biases , prevents him from
seeing the Truth . It is quite obvious that he and the other Dimwits here &
in the WICBC , believe that WE are living under a Dictatorship .

So that No One is permitted to be critical of the ALMIGHTY WICBC , and
its Emperor Cameron the Great , who speaks to people through Intermediaries .

Now they have commissioned the Wehby Report , which aint going to be ready for at least 2 years . Because Wehby et al have very serious day Jobs , and Responsibilities to their own Shareholders , so they obviously have little time devoted to dealing with keeping Cameron & Co afloat .

It is this Autocratic & Asinine behaviour , why the WICBC must be
dissolved , for the good of West Indies Cricket .

My perspective is that there is absolutely no room for compromise ,
because the people in the WICBC has commissioned several Reports , yet it
has failed to implement the recommendations of those Reports .

So as I have stated in this Forum ,
what the hell was the purpose of
commissioning these Reports when in actuality they had & have no intention of changing their 89 years old Structure .
