Berbician Bramble
In reply to doosra
I have always found guyana to produce a constant flow of talented batsmen... Developing them to true class has been lacking in the last couple decades... But this is a wider caribbean problem.
Upper coreyntne boy!!!! We always get raw deal
Guyana got ah lot of T20 talent.. is time the GCB start running a T20 tournament so these guys could make ah me for themselves and probably get into de CPL
By d way Tallawahs shoulda play Foo!
MOM?
This thread is exactly why Guyana Cricket is where it is... I always tell allyuh that is problem is at de root level... Soon Berbicans will fight among the self if it's Rose Hall, Albion, PM... Etc etc. did not see Hoops, Sars and Shiv tekking county credit...

Berbician Moses hand over man of match to Berbician permaul
In reply to WestDem
For the record Guyana cricket is where it it because of the assholes at gcb and that would be demerara if you want to interpret my thread as such
In reply to doosra
Did you do the manly thing and tell GCB about this Demerara vs Berbice thing? Btw where are you living and working?
In reply to WestDem
Why you attacking the man for telling the truth? You Rass need a drink man
In reply to WestDem
look skunt, Berbicians were always shafted from getting selected. It was not until Walcot came and changed things. Even after that Berbice players had to come to GT to play for clubs there to get selected.
With a name like Bramble..you sure he is not a Monsterratian
Bramble was born in scottsbury
Bowled like a dunce today
11.6
Shamsi to Bramble, OUT, Bramble completely deceived from the wrong-un, pitched outside leg, tries to flick and missed it
A Bramble b Shamsi 1 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Didn't guyana win most of the WI regional C'hips this yr...
Didn't a guyanese captain the WI U19 to a first WC and at least 2 more played meaningful parts...
Isn't a Guyanese captaining a prez XI team currently...
The GCB guys looking shine asaholes and might be wondering where is this 'being where it at' that you worried about.
Doosie refuse to post today after de farriner rescued us today!

Yuh think Demerara players nah get shafted? I see it first hand you skunt! Check Seeram, Butts, and Rupert Gomes history and see what they had to do.
There is a reason he averages 22 in 4-day cricket.
Solid performer, true that.
In reply to Andy99
he is more an inconsistent performer,
I remember last year I was saying here that at long last Mudland has found a keeper who could bat....but then a set of inconsistent performances followed
In reply to Narper
I know. I remember him doing decently well too last year probably it was.
Bramble has been a better batsman than probably all Guyana keepers since Pydanna.
A FC batting average of 22 (if true) is not great, but his strike rate in T20 matches is nothing to scoff at. Also, that "22" batting average compares well with that of many specialist regional batsmen.
"Berbice or Demerara getting shafted"? It's amazing that some of us could worry about that, while all of Guyana cricket is getting shafted by the GCB and WICB.
As for praising the GCB for Guyana winning the regional fc competition (in successive years at that), is it coincidence that that Guyana had NO players in any male WI team during that period? (OK, Guyana had Chandrika and Bishoo for a couple of matches here and there during this period. And Shiv, or what was left of him.)
Bramble and Motie have been bright lights in Guyana senior cricket in recent years - even if not yet the brightest around. In Bramble's case, the overseas commentators have been noting his good performances in the CPL.
Hetmyer and Keemo Paul have been bright lights for Guyana among the youths. Let's hope the inherently corrupt GCB gives them the opportunities they deserve.
But, "Berbice getting shafted" or "Demerara getting shafted"? Give me a break!

A total of 45 runs in T20 matches.
And quite untrue about that 22 average and its place in regional cricket. Maybe 3 years back or so but not in the last 2 seasons where batting has really kicked on.
This past season just players who can keep:
Hope - 538 runs at 67
Hamilton - 442 at 40
Thomas - 373 at 37
Katwaroo - 357 at 23
Ambris - 348 at 21
Corbin - 274 at 24
Dowrich - 233 at 38
Bramble - 213 at 15
Same for last season:
Hope - 628 at 44
Dowrich - 615 at 51
Thomas - 473 at 24
Charles - 333 at 47
Fletcher - 326 at 40
Bramble - 298 at 24
2015/16 (min 250 runs)
6 batsmen averaged over 50
4 in the 40s
7 between 35-39
2014/15 (min 250 runs)
4 batsman averaged over 50
7 in the 40's
4 between 35-39

Scottsburgy is in the upper corentyne area close to skeldon

Thanks, Andy. Your number show that Bramble's average compare badly to current regional keepers in fc matches.
How does Bramble's batting average compare against the general regional population? I haven't looked, but I'll bet he's somewhere in the middle of the sorted list.
Comparing his average with general population does not prove that it compares well with those of specialist batsmen (a subjective category), but it may show that Bramble has been an improvement over a long line of Guyana keepers preceding him.
I see his T20 strike rate is 136.
My basic point is that Bramble could have become a good specialist batsman in the region.
