FORMER West Indies fast bowler, Reon King agrees that the upcoming Test series between West Indies and India will definitely be a tough challenge for the Caribbean side.West Indies are currently languishing at number 8 in the Test rankings, just above Bangladesh, and King, who took 53 wickets in his 19 Tests, pointed out that India have a formidable batting line-up and the contest will be equally tough against the Indian spinners.
“Definitely West Indies young brigade need to step up. They were given an opportunity to play in their own backyard, and to play against a quality team, so they must answer their call,” King revealed.The 40-year-old King added “West Indies are still in transition phase, but playing at home certainly will give them some boost. While the series will be challenging, I think ‘patience’ will be the key word, but having said that, India, on the other hand, are also going through a transition phase. They too have a young team,” King pointed out.

Despite the format, battles between West Indies and India have always provided that sort of flare that cricket aficionados looked forward to with immense anticipation.

Ironic. What a wasted talent this guy was. Dillon, Rose, King and McLean. Announced as the new four horsemen by Uncle Joey. Instead they ran the selectors and Amby and Walsh into the ground.

Rose and King provided better results than anyone bowling in the Caribbean today. But WI were greedy and did not want to stand behind them when they had a bad patch

Both exited WI Cricket because they couldn't keep fit. They would have been selected over and over if they could.

This squad selected vs India team needs much to be desired, however, there isn't much of a choice available.

I do strongly believe that we needed an extra bowler against this batting line up. It's going to be very hard work for the bowlers. They probably will be bowling for two days straight but once in the match. The batting on the other hand will be affected mentally by large totals and will be batting twice to overcome one total by the Indians.
