BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) – West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the upcoming Ram Slam T20 competition in South Africa, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) confirmed yesterday.

The confirmation from WICB president Michael Muirhead contradicts an earlier report from ESPN cricinfo stating that Pollard was denied an NOC for the tournament starting on Friday.

During an interview on Massy United Insurance’s Line & Length Network, Muirhead said it was never the board’s intention not to grant Pollard an NOC, but rather explain to him why the process on this occasion was taking longer than usual.

“It was not denying him any NOC, it was explaining to him why it was taking longer. Normally, we would have responded so in seven days he would have gotten it,” explained Muirhead.

Lawsuit was coming. Probably a class action one.
That would have been messy for WICB.

As I have stated in this Forum on several Occasions , the Players who were dissatisfied with WIPA & the WICBC are at fault :

IN THIS VERY FORUM , I AFTER THE

DEBACLE REGARDING THE TOUR TO INDIA

I HAD URGED THEM TO COLLECTIVELY SEEK

THE ADVICE OF A LAW FIRM THAT

SPECIALIZES IN CONTRACTS TO REPRESENT

THEM IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE WICBC .

I did that because it was crystal clear to me that they were the Minority in WIPA , and that meant that their Interests were on the back burner .

My advice was ignored , and that is
precisely why Pollard , and possibly others are having problems with the
WICBC . I am of the opinion that
the ICC & the WICBC & also the Regional Boards should be taken to Court .

That would once and for all clear up
what the ICC & the WICBC can or cannot do regarding the Players . It
is crystal clear , at least to me that the ICC & the WICBC have got to big for their Britches .

But it is imperative that the Players
dissatisfied with WIPA & the WICBC
Collectively have a Law Firm representing them in ALL Legal Matters regarding WIPA & the WICBC .

Obviously overtime , they will have
more Players signing on to the Law Firm who represent them . The Ball
is in the hands of those who are aggrieved by the behaviour of WIPA &
the Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , which has once
again demonstrated why they relish
being the WICBC .

BTW THE WICBC IS NOT KNOW FOR ALWAYS

My take is that the fact that Pollard was granted his NOC , I believe implies that The WICBC realizes that it is in Quicksand .

This is precisely why the Players not
in WIPA need to collectively seek advice & representation from a Law Office that specializes in Contracts .

They should have done this when the Tour to India was aborted ; however
I am reminded of the adage :

I hope that the Players who are unsatisfied with both WIPA & the Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth , the WICBC .

Hilliare spoke about NOC when he was the CEO, so this is no big deal, West Indians cricketers were always given a NOC.
Jason Holder was the only one that was denied one last year.

The players needs to get agents or different agency board aside from WIPA. Cause right now WIPA is acting as an arm of the WICB.
They basically double dipping and that always comes up messy.

You are quite correct in your assessment , and I have echoed what
you have stated on several occasions in this Forum .

The key to Players having an impact is to:

COLLECTIVELY HIRE A LAW FIRM THAT

SPECIALIZES IN CONTRACTS . I HAVE

ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT THAT IF THEY DID

THAT THEY WOULD FIND MORE PLAYERS

JOINING THEIR RANKS .

Now regarding WIPA , in this Forum I
was & am on record stating in this Forum , that the WICBC decided to pay
Regional Players , to ensure that the International Players power in WIPA
gets diluted .

I am also on record stating that the
International Players needed to:

OPT OUT WIPA , SINCE IT WAS & IS AN

ARM OF THE WICBC , AND THEREFORE ONLY

SERVES THE INTERESTS OF THE WICBC .
