While the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) continued to bring increased revenue overall to the Caribbean territories hosting matches, there were reduced earnings in Trinidad and Tobago in 2016. According to a CPL media release yesterday, visitor spending was US$2,616,625, down by 25 per cent from 2015 when the Queen’s Park Oval hosted the finals of Hero CPL.
The CPL further said that “total media value was down by 46 per cent to US$2,970,740.” While T&T had been one of the territories initially bidding to host the finals of this year’s CPL, St Kitts and Nevis were eventually awarded the matches. The release further added that 512 local jobs were created and 3,297 hotels rooms filled when T&T hosted the finals.
Also, according to the CPL’s Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) survey, there was a combined television audience of 10.5 million for the Trinbago Knight Riders’ matches, while 45,072 fans attended the games at the Queen’s Park Oval. Overall, however, the CPL in 2016 brought a third straight increase in revenue to the region.

Some propaganda to entice T&T or some other territory to bid for the finals.
Was some previous bids rumored in the region of US$4 mil, but only US$2.6 mil in visitor spending?
So without paying a fee for the finals there was still some revenue, but if they bid for the finals there would be overall loss?
More interest means more money gained by the CPL from governments of the Caribbean. True there are jobs and hotel rooms, but how long is that for...2 weeks? 1 month? Maybe money can be invested elsewhere that will give more lasting benefits.

None of your post mentioned anything to do with how the success of the CPL means overall more for the success of WI Players and WI Cricket.
