The Spectacular success of West Indian cricket teams in three International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments last year must not be taken for granted and can act as a pivot for the region to restore its reputation as a viable force in world sport.
This point was hammered home by president of the West Indies Cricket Board Wycliffe “Dave” Cameron when he hosted a lively town hall meeting on Thursday at the Preysal High School in the company of his vice-president Emmanuel Nanton and leading officials of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board.
Cameron, who returns unopposed as WICB president for a third consecutive term later this year highlighted several other notable achievements in 2016 which he said have placed the regional game in an enviable position.
“No cricket board in the world can boast of holding three ICC championships at any one time as West Indies do, and we must commend ourselves as last year was very big for regional cricket,” said Cameron.

The funny thing is that next year , Bangladesh is going to England , while our Players will be looking at the matches on TV .
Cameron made no mention of the fact that in the shortest version of the game , from its inception in the Region , the WICBC farmed the Regional format of the game out .
It was run by Former Great Players who organized and were in charge of this version of the game .
THE STARK FACT IS THAT IT WAS THOSE
FORMER PLAYERS , WHO COACHED ; &
HONED OUR MEN TO BE WORLD CHAMPIONS .
CAMERON & CO ARE NOW QUICK TO TAKE
CREDIT .
Yet Cameron & Co , to my knowledge
have never honoured these Former Great Players for the work they have
done to hone the skills of Our Players in this format of the game .
POINT

Someone needs to ask Cameron & Co what
happened to the longer versions of the game that are always under the governance of the WICBC , in these
versions we are wallowing at or near the bottom of International Cricket . They have no freakinG Shame .

Also need to add the fact that our team is not in Champions trophy
So is like twe gone from top to bottom real quick
Unless he's satisfied with what the team achieved from last year and willing to ride that horse till they have to take it behind the barn to be shot?

I think the BIG IDIOT should be 'muzzled' as we enter into a relationship between the CWI president and the CEO akin to that of Dr Hunte and Don Hilaire, where the Don did just about all the loud-mouthing.
That should keep him quiet until at least the next board elections.

I am very surprised that their Charlatans in this Forum have not yet
come forward in this Post to defend the Big Idiots .
I am awaiting the Report from the Wehby Committee regarding the 88 years old Structure that the Big Idiots bluntly refuse to give up .
The Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC or Cricket Worst Idiots , aka CWI have bluntly refused to be Transparent ; Accountable or exercise
the Principles of Good Governance .
POINT

They will never admit that in the longer versions of the game our Players & Team are near the bottom of International Cricket .
That evidently does not trouble the Members of the WICBC / CWI .
BTW CHANGING THE NAME OF THE ENTITY
WHILE STILL NOT ADHERING TO ALL THE
PRINCIPLES OF GOOD GOVERNANCE IS IN
FACT PERPETRATING A CRUEL HOAX ON THE
PEOPLE IN THE REGION .
Putting lipstick on a Pig ; does not
and cannot alter the fact that it is
still a Freaking Pig .
Therefore changing the name and still
doing business as usual aint going to
help the cause of the Big Idiots in the WICBC / CWI . This is merely a cosmetic change ; aimed to bamboozle
the People in the Region .

we won 3 titles...
1 by the women
1 by the U19's
1 by the Men in the World T20 championship
These are facts.
Also facts:
The women are ranked #5 of 8 teams
The U19 team hasn't played int'l cricket since that world cup victory
The Men's team won that T20 championship with 7 players (Gayle, Badree, Bravo, Ramdin, Sammy, Simmons, Taylor) who don't represent WI anymore for multiple reasons.
That team said they won the cup IN SPITE OF THE LACK OF SUPPORT FROM THE WICB
The men are ranked #8 in Tests
#9 in ODI's (lowest ever ranking in this format)
#4 in T20's
The men have also failed to qualify for the Champions Trophy for the first time ever.
Definitely on the right path

all of that may be true, but we still better off than we have been in two decades. The board have made tough and unpopular choices, but as we can all see they are trying to develop the players who are committed.

Based on what metric?
The board have made tough and unpopular choices, but as we can all see they are trying to develop the players who are committed.
Committed eh? Define commitment.

People like DD and his fans, will learned, when the next wave of youngsters start deserting the WICB
Players are not stupid, they read and know how autocratic the WICB can be.
Can you imagine these clowns running the Bulls when Rodman was playing?

WELL , WELL , at last one of the Charlatans of the WICBC has shown up, Ms. Kay , as usual offering up her vile & vulgar comments . Ms. Kay please be assured that anything vile
that you decide to state regarding me
is mutual .
None of the BUMS can ever explain why Cameron et al bluntly refuse to change
the 88 years old Structure .
WE NEED TO KNOW WHY THE PEOPLE IN THE
WICBC BLUNTLY REFUSE TO CHANGE THE
STRUCTURE OF THE WICBC .
Imagine a few years ago when in International Cricket the New Zealand
Cricket Board realized that it needed
to have some Reforms . They did that
with alacrity .
But not this Lot , they prefer to
hold on to their 1929 Structure , come Hell or High Water ; never mind the fact that all of the Reports they have commissioned so far have emphatically stated that there must be serious Structural changes .

You may believe that he is an Emperor , I however am not of that opinion .
This series will inform all of Us whether or not WE are on the Right Path .
There once a Tennis Player , in the Region , he won all the matches in the Region . But every time he went to Wimbledon , he was eliminated in the first round .
Obviously in the Region the standard
of Tennis in the Region was lower than the standard at Region .
So the coming Series in the Region will inform us not only about Standard of Cricket in the Region , but also whether Cricket in the Region is on the Right Path .
Therefore it aint only the Players who are on Trial , The Stewardship of the WICBC/ CWI , in my opinion is also on Trial , and whether its
Stewardship of Cricket is on the Right Path .

If WI had played 1 or 2 more ODI's they would have qualified for the Championships trophy. Guess who sabotaged an ODI series? Then Pakistan conspired to cancel an ODI tour that would have also allowed WI to qualify. Then promptly played another series with the eventual qualifier. If one is going to use the Championship trophy as some major set back, at least be honest enough to put the blame for that debacle where it really belongs.

Why didn't BCCI sue the players?
Lets be honest, where should the blame be put?
Who was found responsible for the abadoned tour?
You want to blame Pakistan for cancelling their series with us??
C'mon now..do better than that

In reply to imusic... I would say right path also, with longer seasons, more players getting paid. However, it stops there. I would like to see more A team tours and a reestablishment of the HPC, would love one in each territory. Also, for DD to stop being the disciplinary committee.
