Choose Life!

Deuteronomy 30:19—This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.

Now choose life!

Moses knew the power of choice to bring blessings or curses upon the nation of Israel. In one of history’s most dramatic statements, he stood before all Israel and shouted Deuteronomy 30:19 with all the power of his aged voice.

When Abraham and Lot stood together on the fertile plains of Jordan, Lot made the choice that was to be his undoing. “So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan” Genesis 13:11. He pitched his tent toward Sodom, ignoring the moral and spiritual dangers.

Hear the hissing of the brimstone as it falls from the sky, bringing annihilation to Sodom. See the sons and daughters of Lot running in panic, futilely seeking a place of refuge. This was the consequence of their father’s choice.

First, Lot had 2 children, daughters.

He had no sons. His wives were married to men of Sodom who chose to stay behind.

Lot's daughters survived. So no, his daughters did not run in panic.

The Bible writers are always accurate, Bible students need to be same.

Also, futilely?

He had no sons.

Really!!! please don't argue from silence of Scripture.

Scripture only makes mention of Lot's two daughters, but that not mean he had no sons.

The most we can say is Scripture only makes mention of Lot's two daughters but is silent as far as sons are concerned.

The scriptures are clear. Lot had two daughters. Clear that both daughters were married, Clear that both daughter's husbands perished.
Clear that the daughters slept with their father to continue his lineage. Why would it make no mention of Sons?

Or is it you who want to argue needlessly?

The scriptures discuss his family at length...why would it omit his sons but mention sons in law?

Whatever dude, you just want to argue. Good day.

Why did the Bible omit Jesus' teenage years? Maybe he was a wild child? lol

Is there any question that he had teenage years?

Ayenmol 2019-02-11 14:03:55

The Bible does not mention Abraham fathering daughters...did he?

What was the status of sons vs the status of daughters in Bible times?

Where in the Bible has any family been discussed at length where the Patriach and his daughters are discussed but not the sons who existed?

ah Deuteronomy....

22:28-29
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered..... He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

28:30
(If you don't obey the Lord your God and follow all his commands)You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it.

22:22
If a man is found sleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die.

The whole backroom would be put to death smile

Deuteronomy 12:6 And Lot begot a son and he was called Ouse

Deuteronomy 12:7 And Ouse brought Front into his mother Sarah's tent, and she became his wife.
He loved her deeply, and she was a special comfort to him after the death of his
mother.

Deuteronomy 12:8 Ouse and Front Lot had 4 children

Well duh.

The sons were named Moab and Benammi.

They actually each formed a Nation...the Moabites and Ammonites.
