APNU won by an oil barrel

Dem middle class Guyanese een give a damn - dem happy dem have Pricemart.
Gi dem apples and grapes and a nice SUV and a house dat looks American even if it will go down wid di climate change big wave.
Well, that no confidence Vote seem to have back-fired, whoever instigated it could have been patient and wait for the regular schedule Elections. Hopefully both Parties could get together and manage the Oil.

We hope for peace in Guyana and my biggest wish is for healing, Jagdeo has to step aside and let a multi racial group of youngsters build that party in a true representation of Guyana.
A party that has embraced an "Indo Guyanese" belief system and feel no shame in referring to themselves as "Indo" cannot be fit to lead Guyana.
In reply to dayne
What fuckery you chatting?
The PNC and Granger were always going to rig this election and carry out a coup.
The no confidence vote merely served to illustrate their utter contempt for the constitution and rule of law.
In reply to Mulla Bin Emir
Go fcuk yourself and worry about all the shit happening in Tittyland.
In reply to Emir
man...go fuk yourself and stay out of all things Guyana
In reply to ray
Some Indo Guyanese probably tief he wife.
My Mom text me tonight showing my Granny dancing while frying some Banga Mary.
In reply to SnoopDog
We do not know what happened yet, but politics is a dangerous things, who know if the Oil Industry in the country is pulling the strings behind the scene, they might be more comfortable dealing with the PNC than the PPP. However the Opposition Party before 4 years ago, ruled Guyana for over 25 years and after they were voted out many abuses of power were discovered. Both Parties are guilty of wrongdoings, it would be good if people wait and see what really was done with the ballot boxes.

How will the country be governed by an illegal govt? Look across the border to get an idea.
In reply to sudden
For di record I called dis at 4.50pm
In reply to Runs
The difference is that unlike across the border, this 'illegal govt' appears to have Uncle Sam's endorsement.
Ok, I should stay out of Guyanese business.
In reply to Drapsey

This is based on?
I will counter that she told them to conclude the tabulation as the declaration is premature and not credible.
The press release is on another thread, go take a look.
In reply to Runs
Reading this and other related threads.

Didn't they do the same in the last election and then accept it?
Trust any of them at your peril.
In reply to Runs
Bro ignore that press release and don't trust dem peeps. Guyana is ruled by di oil men and the local tools.
In reply to Chrissy
I know, awaiting to see the conclusion, I distrust ALL politicians by the way
Most are selfish.
Guyana is racially polarized and they use a marginally educated base for their own benefits on both sides.
In reply to Runs
This Region 4 thing looks eerily similar to the Texas Chad fiasco that gave GW Bush the US Presidency in the US 2000 election.
In reply to Drapsey
It was always going to come down to the courts, if as the parties are claiming they all have completed, corresponding SOPs, how will the court decide?
What Gecom does now?
Open the ballot boxes and do a recount for Region 4?
Remember only 1 party so far has different counts, this was Apnu which was signed off by the RO and a govt minister. So who signed off on the others SOP?
Can a govt minister sign off in place of the Gecom chairwoman?
In reply to Drapsey
for once u make sense..if guyanese feel exxon going to risk renegotiation of a sweetheart deal allyuh need a new feel...
Here is a clearer picture of where things stand.

my mate Krishna informed me that Exxon has instructed Granger to be more inclusive and broad based in this term. Granger has committed to be more benevolent.
Good things are on the horizon, my friend, fear thee not

But the countries involved- Trump's America for example, has no moral authority to preach to Guyana about free and fair elections.
This mess can be sorted out by Guyanese only if Jagdeo and his group wants to, their actions thus far seems to run to big countries to change the results.
No?
In reply to Runs
(Guyana is racially polarized and they use a marginally educated base for their own benefits on both sides.)
I think this Election is more about who controls and benefits from the Oil revenues coming in the future than ethnicity, the PNC is pretty much an ethnically mixed Party.
In reply to dayne
PNC/APNU is not ethnically mixed.KYS
In reply to maj
what constitutes a mixture in your opinion?
In reply to camos
How many Indian candidates in the APNU party?
A "mixture" should reflect the population's racial makeup.
In reply to maj
how many bajans in PPP/C?
next wildcard..seeing that Trump wants oil prices high...will this he used as an excuse for disruption?
In reply to maj
mixture reflects the party mix, not the population!

No?In reply to Emir
All Jagdeo wants is for due legal process. The rightful winner is announce.
Honestly emir, do you believe that apnu won...
then you believe in trump fake news..
In reply to dayne
Listen big oil has no confidence in dem.
US State Dept. just weighed in.
In reply to Runs
What did they say - they are at the root of this mess and have been for decades
In reply to Chrissy
No candidate should be sworn in or declare victory as there seems to have been serious credibility with the results of the elections.
In reply to Chrissy
No confidence in who?
In reply to Emir
Wait - you think any of them want a free and fair election in Guyana or anywhere else for that matter.
It is only free when their interests are covered. Allyuh wake up!
In reply to Chrissy
Strategic oil reserves, with a dictatorship in Benez they do not want that in GY. You bet your last dollar this is being followed very closely.
In reply to Runs
so unnuh counting on Trump to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process in Guyana now?
In reply to sudden
No, but sadly they have always been involved, and will be even moreso now. Read up the history.
