My university professor cousin sent me a facebook segment of a Jamaican dermatologist & her family who are drinking bits of coconut oil daily! Didnt know that good ole coconut oil has been used to fight many viruses many many years ago!

I understand your doubt.....
In reply to johndom90 Bang on! A holistic oil for 'head to toe!' & I saw this on one of the Health channels...it's helps in fighting Alzheimer/dementia! I keep telling my wife, buy it when we go to costco. She whines that it's expensive. Btw, my sister-in-law in the basement made it one day!
In reply to johndom90

most WIndians of our vintage know about the traditional use of coconut oil but to come here touting it as a cure to COVID 19 is a bit much without evidence, would you say?
In reply to BeatDball
You are on to something. Coconut oil is a huge part of the Keto diet which is really good at building your immune system.
You are a top notch thinker.

I grew up with coconut oil living down south in TT.
My old relatives in a rural detached village called Blanchisseuse ( north coast) made and used coconut oil as a staple.
it was used for everything... cooking, skin care, in the mole of the head ( i hated that shyte).
In time, modernisation came to town with vegetable oil...olive oil....and coconut had to take a side

This is down right silly and dangerous if you ask me.
In reply to johndom90 It's making a comeback. To Primary & Secondary School (if you didnt reach the Form to wear long pants), it was used as skin care! Knew some moms who used to 'over do the do' in 'oiling dung' their sons with it! Btw, when treeknees talk of South or being from South - what towns/parishes/counties are included?
In reply to BeatDball
it have south and it have deep south.
The general term south means anything south of Chaguanas, but mainly San fernando and everything south east, south and south west of it.
There's deep south - mainly refers to Point Fortin-Cedros -Icacos ( all further south of San fernando).
Princes town to the east, moruga.....also considered as south.
It could be confusing...but we doh get lost...
In reply to johndom90
Read the article - it's not the oil - it's some of its byproducts
In reply to Chrissy The derivatives! Wheh dat come from?! Don't be technical/pedantic!
The authority advised consumers against purchasing any health products locally or online that claim to prevent or treat COVID-19.
The HAS has warned that many of these products carry advertising claims of scientific evidence, but such claims often lack a robust scientific basis and cannot be verified, especially where emerging diseases such as COVID-1
Keep it going folks.
In reply to BeatDball
South in that context means San Fernando or any town or community south of San Fernando. Look at a map of Trinidad for a visual understanding
I was born and raised in south. So a Trini would say to me "You from south" or sometimes i will hear "You iz ah south man"
In reply to johndom90
Well Couva is south of Chaguanas and Couva is considered Central and not South so to me using Chaguanas will not be a good dividing line. I will say from San Fernando is better

In reply to problemjay How come you fellas ent mentioning Siparia?! Ah Google to look up some places.
In reply to Courtesy
You don't want a shot of coconut oil?
In reply to black
I wouldn't mind. It would put all my Covid-19 worries behind me.
In reply to BeatDball
Siparia is south. If you from Siparia then you from south.
When you hear people say "Machel Montano from south" its because he was born in Siparia...he then later moved up north to Diego Martin when he was older
In reply to BeatDball
You are clearly advising people to drink coconut oil not a derivative.

In reply to nick2020 It's in 'there', isn't it?
I'm not saying for anyone out there to go drink coconut oil!
In reply to BeatDball
That isn't how derivatives work though
In reply to problemjay
From a northerners perspective, in their view, anything after Chaguanas is South...Sando,,Deep south, down south. A macro view if you will. I tired try to explain to them when i was in north...that was back in the 90s 80's
We could break down the micro, at our level, fair enough. But I keep it simple for the ball beater vooper...
In reply to BeatDball
How about if we inject you with the virus and have you drink a bottle of coconut oil?
In reply to BeatDball
Cold pressed
