I'm glad Sammy is exposing the racism in cricket

Chrissy 2020-06-14 12:13:38

Well done.

Hola...I have read on this forum over the years your association with Rohan Kanhai...perhaps you can have him open up and talk about racism ...

I have no respect for Sammy even if he is telling the truth. He is a frigging opportunist who would've, in my opinion, gone to South Africa back in the day. Screw him.

IPL big contract dry up so..If he was eating big food out of that pot would he...

Plenty of racism and insularity, which is extended racism, right here in the Caribbean. Ask Permaul, for example, and Bishoo before him, and Madray before them.

Hola...WI cricket has always been a bit topsy turvy...but brown boys in WI team were constantly referred to as weak..and the 'C" word was thrown loosely...was it racism???
Throughout the West Indies from Jamaica and all islands the 'C " word is commonly used....but to me its more of an endearment than bigotry...as this 'C " boy is happy and proud and really do not find the 'C" word as derogatory...because as a 'C " person we struggled survived and rose to the top..ask the Bahamians as we went to their outer islands and taught them...'C" boys are highly regarded in the Bahamas..
I wonder how that Ambi and Chanderpaul thing started..was he refeered to as weak and'C "word used...mmmmm who knows.

Not in all of cricket..There are pockets of racism that go unexposed and unacknowledged..

Well, to Sammy's credit he did seh he thought it meant something uplifting like a strong stallion in the days when the pot was sweet. He is allowed to change his mind now when the pot get sour ... smile

You guys are full of crap. I guess because it's Sammy what he said has no merit. That's like saying people shouldn't protest for George Floyd, because he went to Jail. Very Candace Owens of you two...

I am very very sorry you choose to make this statement. It is a false statement and does not deserve to be part of any conversation on racism against people with black or dark skin by those who have a lighter shade of dark skin in India.

Khaga 2020-06-14 19:42:33

This notion that WI cricket doesn't have discriminatory policies or practices is at odds with all practical reality..

Not Emir's reality, apparently.

I am not making that argument, the truth is Afro Caribbean and Caribbean Asians were the victims of racism in WI cricket for many years, even recently at places such as Queens Park.

Poster CITYBOY, mentioned Rohan and next he may bring up Kalli and other Asian Guyanese to paint a picture of racism against "Indo" Guyanese players, which is a pathetically false narrative.

"Indo" Guyanese political ideology is toxic and it is really pathetic that people try to bring it up in a decent conversation about racisms against black and dark skin people in India's cricket.

Vinod, remember him?

Hola...I understand your statements...its not my intention to debate any irregularities of skin color...I merely asked Chrissy about raising an issue with Rohan ..
I did indicate that I do not know if the skin color issue is racism or something else...
I can tell you this....what I speak of is not heresay or gossip..this is real..
I grew up with 2 who went on to represent WI....Rohan walks in to the dressing room at Lords...pulls on one of the guys hair (and pulled it hard and said)..you see this "you better represent it because they dont like it"..
Now you can take that anyway you want...
Anyway..I leave the matter closed..as I believe that Racism is perceived to be only meted out to one race,,
No hard feelings...I know of what I speak..as I said is it racism or just bullying..Rohan can answer..(no it was not Rohan that I grew up with..but that son of a beeswax has left a big mark on my shin with his cricket boots..we were both after the ball...thats astory for another day.

Just the same you are misrepresenting Candace Owens.

Norm 2020-06-14 21:56:52

So, Rohan is racist, and your story is the proof? And, by extension Sammy now has his definitive proof that Indians are racist towards Blacks and solid basis to sue for mucho lakhs.

How about the other Black cricketers who have played IPL in India? Are they just afraid to start crying in public that they too were subjected to brutal Kalu treatment?

Barry 2020-06-14 22:31:14

In reply to Khaga

This notion that WI cricket doesn't have discriminatory policies or practices is at odds with all practical reality.

Practices and policies are two different things. Systemic, institutional factors may be reduced expect in Guyana but practices are not non discriminatory; with negative actions quickly rationalized.
