Regional cricket analyst Fazeer Mohammed has taken exception to recent comments made by Windies coach Roddy Estwick, who recently compared the current bowling unit to the famed West Indies pace attack of the past.

“I think there is too much being made about the quality of our fast bowling.  Roddy Estwick made the point that this is our best fast bowling unit since the great era, that is complete nonsense,” Mohammed told the Mason and Guest Radio program.

Both Estwick and Coach Reifer are pumping up the players that are in their coaching responsibility, Fazeer should be conscious of that. It is basic sports psychology.

What evidence is there to compare them to the great combination of the past.

Dere must be something else dat Estwick said cause those words above are simply saying dat this is the best fast bowling attack since de glory days. It does not say dat it is on par, above par, below par or way below par. No comparison is made.

So maybe we shud try to come up with attacks over the years since de greats dat are better than this current one.

I happen to agree with Estwick that this unit is the best since the great years. He was not comparing this generation to the great one. Only a fool would do that.

Holder has been one of the best pacers in the world in recent years

Definitely best since the great era.....Roach,Holder, Gabriel performed remarkably in the last few years.. Joseph can be as devastating as anyone in cricket ....

I believe they are the best since the great pace era...but they have to prove it home and away against a top tier team...so far only England in their backyard.

Consider this...Hypothectically if FIDEL EDWARDS was available now...who could he replace in our bowling line-up?

Only possibly Gabriel. And that is still touch and go.

i want faz to tell us who was better..........certainly not nixon mcclean, franklyn rose, reon king etc, only jerome taylor, kemar roach, ravi rampaul and suilemann benn was more talented and they played one or two series together before the hunte, hillaire and gibbo mashed it up

Surely....away and home basis consistently...players after great era couldn't do it even at home conditions....reasons many be varied...slow pitches,chopping and changing by selectors.... cricket West Indies invested in these present lot....they are giving it back ...though inconsistently...till now....
