Kieron Pollard:
We are gonna bowl first. It's a new pitch, no cricket has been palyed. We want to see what it's doing. They are good chasers, they have a powerful line-up. We'll try to restrict them and hopefully, we can chase it. We have five changes. Narine, Simmons and Bravo are back. We had a fair idea about our combination coming into this match. He's (Narine) massive for us, one of the greatest T20 players. It's a matter of execution. We have been doing that all tournament. Hopefully, it happens today.

Rovman Powell:
We have been playing some inconsistent cricket, but hopefully today is the day. We are relying on what he have control over. Asif Ali and Bonner come in. All of us have a strong support staff behind us. We get different messages, hopefully that gives us the strength to pull it off.

Despite a series of injuries - Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Ali Khan - TKR has been an unstoppable juggernaut on home soil in 2020 as they have shown off their all-round squad depth and comfort in local conditions. The Tallawahs meanwhile have relied on a handful of players - CPL leading wicket-taker Mujeeb ur Rahman, CPL leading scorer Glenn Phillips, Sandeep Lamichhane and Andre Russell - to do most of the heavy lifting and all four will have to fire in a big way if the No. 4 seed Tallawahs are to pull off an upset today.

Knight Riders XI: Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Tion Webster, Tim Seifert (wk), Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard (capt), Dwayne Bravo, Akeal Hosein, Khary Pierre, Fawad Ahmed, Ali Khan.
Tallawahs XI: Jermaine Blackwood, Glenn Phillips (wk), Asif Ali, Rovman Powell (capt), Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Nkrumah Bonner, Veerasammy Permaul, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sandeep Lamichhane, Fidel Edwards.
Powell says Nicholas Kirton and Chadwick Walton have been dropped. Nkrumah Bonner and Asif Ali come back into the Tallwahs XI.
Pollard says he's made five changes. Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Simmons and Khary Pierre are back into the XI. But looks like Munro is going to miss out. We'll wait for final confirmation in another few moments.
Kieron Pollard spins the coin. Rovman Powell calls heads. It lands tails. Trinbago Knight Riders will bowl first, with Pollard saying it's a new pitch and he wants to see how it behaves.

Joel Wilson, who is currently on the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, is the TV umpire for today's match. The lack of DRS has been a bone of contention among many viewers once again this season, but Michael Hall, CPL's Tournament Operations Director, said: "We have been pleased with the overall standard of umpiring in this year's tournament, which has been just as challenging for the match officials as it has been for the players. Umpires' performances were rated after each match by the Match Referee, and feedback sought from the captains. Several factors, including decision making and technique as well as game and man-management, were considered in appointing the team to take charge of the Final, and we take this opportunity to congratulate them, and to thank all of our match officials for contributing to the success of the 2020 Hero CPL."

Pukhraj Saxena: "If Tallawahs win today, would that be considered as a surprising? I am going for Tallawahs and Warriors Final ". Based on the high street oddsmakers, you bet it would be an upset! Knight Riders are listed as 4/9 favorites, Tallawahs 7/4 underdogs. For all those in Vegas, that reads Knight Riders -225, Tallwahs +175 in the American style odds displays.
Sean: "Good morning from New England in the US! How much of TKR's dominance can be attributed to home field advantage?" Over the years, quite a lot. Will be curious to see if teams are keen on another one-country bio bubble event if it comes to that in 2021 when the scales have been tipped overwhelmingly in favor of the permanent host side for 2020.
Ahmad Khalid: "I guess PDP would be glad to see Ali Khan performing well in this match. Fan of both of them." He looked less than 100% coming back into the XI in the last match after missing a week or so with hamstring strain. Speed gun didn't clock him above 130 kph and he wasn't exactly sprinting into the crease. Will be curious if breaks 135 kph today, let alone 140 kph when he's really humming.

Darren Bravo:
So far so good, tremendous effort by each and everyone of us. The world knows that he (Narine) is the best spinner in the entire world. Happy to have him back in the XI. The guys believe him as much as he believes in himself. It might just be a walk in the park for him today. I understand my role in the TKR set-up. We definitely need to play our perfect game in all facets of the game. We are very much aware of their strengths and weaknesses of the Tallawahs.
Glenn Phillips:
I have tried to keep everything as simple as possible. Spoke with Sarwan a lot in the last couple of years and learned to find my game. Everybody's on the same points again, it's 'winner takes all'. We get to play cricket for a living, so let's enjoy it. He's (Russell) ready for it. Hope it's a good game. He's (Blackwood) my best mate now. We have a good chemistry going on. We trust each other's ability.

Akeal Hosein to Blackwood, out Bowled!! Ideal start for the Knight Riders. Akeal Hosein draws first blood. Poor from Blackwood. Three dots and he tries to slog his way out of trouble, ends up perishing for a duck. In-drifter, skids off the deck and Blackwood plays well outside the line while trying to play an ambitious shot across the line.

Narine to Russell, OUT
Charges forward in defense and is given out on a deflection to slip! But did he hit it?!But did he hit it?! Russell danced down the track and Narine cleverly adjusted by dragging the length back fractionally on middle. He prods forward and the ball balloons off the top of the pad flap to Bravo at slip, who takes the catch reaching high over his head. Appeal for the catch is upheld. Russell is furious! Slams his bat. Replays show the ball looked to clearly hit the pad with no bat or glove involved.

Narine to Russell, out Caught by Dwayne Bravo!! Russell is given out caught at slip, and he's furious. Makes no attempt to hide his displeasure at the decision. This looked like it came straight off the pad. He came down the track, only to find Narine shortening his length further. It spins in, deflects off the pad to slip. The finger goes up though. What a big moment

Russell's decision was poor from the umpire, Nigel Duguid, but it was a consequence of a negative mindset. He was intent on defending Narine the entire way, trying to see him off. Tallawahs not only refuse to promote him up the order in a must-win match, but when he does come out, he stays in his shell instead of doing what he does best as a match-winner.

Clint: "Let me guess, because of this unfortunate call on Russell, this is the reason for Jamaica potentially losing this game? I think not. TKR have been dominant. Russell or not. Negative approach from Jamaica an even the fear factor nor promoting him higher up the order."
Mossy: "Don't agree that Russell was in a shell. Numerous occasions this CPL he started watchfully for the first 10 balls then took off once his eye got in and broke the Tallawahs loose. He only faced 5 balls, 3 against Narine. To put any part of this ridiculous umpiring decision on Russell for his mindset is unfair." When you're 68 for 5 with 6 overs left, there is not really any margin left to be blocking. Better to swing big and try to get to 130 instead of prodding out 3 over the 6 remaining overs to try to get past 100.

DJ Bravo to Brathwaite, no run
Wide yorker on sixth stump, carved to cover point. Diving stop by Simmons. Brathwaite wants a single but for Permaul is perhaps expecting him to keep the strike as much as possible for the last 12 balls. The throw from Simmons is wild as Brathwaite tries to hustle back. Seifert tries to backhand flick it onto the stumps but misses. He was three yards out if the relay wasn't rushed.

11.38 am Clinical, disciplined and at times merciless display from the Knight Riders spinners contains the Tallawahs to 107. Hosein led the way with three wickets. A lot of discussion will be had about the erroneous decision to give Andre Russell out against Narine, but the Tallawahs approach as a whole was negative. Nobody had a strike rate above 100. Phillips and Asif Ali both had a strike rate of 100, but that was facing a combined six balls. Much of the dot balls were just simply block block blocked out. Once the Tallawahs batting order went into their shell, it was hard to come back out of it. Knight Riders will be overwhelming favorites to maintain their undefeated record and advance to the final. Can Lamichhane and Mujeeb spin the Tallawahs to an unlikely upset?

12.55 pm Clinical, disciplined and merciless in the second innings chase just as they were with the ball. The Trinbago Knight Riders juggernaut cannot be stopped in 2020.Tallawahs season ends with a whimper, five-match winless streak and this was the most lifeless display of that stretch. The match really was not what you expect out of a semi-final, one-sided literally from beginning to end.

Akeal Hosein named Man of the Match for his 3 for 14: "It's a great feeling just to be out there to be able to give 100% for my team and be able to perform as well as I did today. It was fun to bowl on. I was getting the ball to swing and spin. I've been sitting in my room telling myself I've been doing pretty decent so far and all I needed was a Man of the Match performance and I'm really glad that I can do that today. [On coming out of the Laventille area south of Port of Spain] A lot of negative things have been said about that particular area. I'm going to say it's the most pleasant area but it just goes to show that there are people who can come out of that area and do well for themselves. I hope that they can reach out and still give a hand and help these people in these sort of areas."
