I have seen two of their batsmen and they both look like they live in the bush and have never seen cricket played.
I am talking about J. Mohammed and some Ottley chap.
The other batsmen before them Ambris and Mayers, I hope I never see them in West Indies colours again.
Mayers looks like he has never seen spin bowling (absolutely clueless). At this level once you are found out there is no place to hide and the chance of international success becomes very slim.

Is there a cricket academy in TnT?
One other guy who batted in the first two ODIs McCathy looks like he should apply for job as a sailor.
Bye Jove!!! Are we that hopeless?
Hamilton comes in. Lemme see wat he gats.
Yes we are hopeless.
Have these guys seen proper cricket play?
How can an organization fail to correct a downslide affter almost 3 decades? And why is this organization still existing?

Well ottley and Mohammed aren't even regulars for the TT team. And Ottley is an engineer, he isn't running down selection like some of the other players in this team

I get your perspective. But players in the past like Alvin Greenidge, Sew Shivnarine, Bacchus et al even if they were not regulars, you could have seen that they had the batting techniques and could have gotten a pass on the lead team.
Further, most of those guys are being paid to be in a professional setup.
Cho man!! Those guys look like deers in the headlights.

How long ago dat was hoss.......like 40 sumthin years

That's the point. We have gone in reverse since when their are more opportunities and rewards and the game is being managed with much more resources and yet the CWI cannot turn around things.
John Eugene was no where close to making the West Indies selection, yet he was a better batsman than most of those current chaps.
CWI is paying millions of dollars annually to finance a professional set up and is this the return we get for this level of investment? We cannot full a second string team.
Isn't it time to evaluate what has been going on?

Professional set up is a waste of time the crooks at the Country level keep awarding them to the usual failures.. time they set requirements for those contracts.
Maybe something like this for batsmen:
Grade 'A' - Minimum 45 batting average
Grade 'B' - batting avg. 38-44
Grade 'C' - batting avg. 30 - 37
Same should be done for the bowlers and allrounders too. Since 90% of the current players won't make the cut, take the savings and open some academies in the region and focus on the youths.

You are so correct...minimum standards.
The professional league is not serving its intended purpose. It's more like a social welfare programme. There are players given contracts who will never see the light of day in a West Indies dressing room yet the continue to eat a food.
When will CWI demand value for its limited financial resources spend?
T&TCB has one at Couva
Plus we have two private Cricket academies, Pooran practises at one.
