Nedd
My friend Musicman must be pleased
In reply to Narper
thanks for the correction Narps.
I'm happy for him too, great to see these guys getting a chance to still improve on their game.
In reply to positiveg
Good for him. I like this bowler. Lots of potential
In reply to Narper
Yeah man
..happy for any yute that gets these kinds of opportunities.
In reply to imusic
Me too
The more the exposure the better for WI cricket
I am sure Dominic Drakes is learning a lot even though he is on the bench. Last IPL he too was recruited to as a net bowler.

Glad for the young man.I know his father,Garvin who Coaches at DCC and was a good off-spinner back in the day.
is there no way to get him playing some first class games?
so much talent but with the left arm spin influx guyana has currently, I cant see him ever getting a play
In reply to conman
FC cricket is supposed to be franchise cricket I.e. the. Professional league
So even if GuyNa has a surfeit of left arm orthodox spinners, he could/should be playing elsewhere
It is up to CWI to identify talent aNd encourage franchises to select players with potential to ensure they are getting as much playing time as possible.
Nedd would be one of those in that players with potential category
In reply to conman
Guyana has 4 slow left arm orthodox spinners
1.Veerasammy Permaul
2.Gudakesh Motie
3.Anthony Adams
4.Ashmead Nedd
As a result both Nedd and off-spinner Kevin Sinclair had to sit out from the Guyana squad. In addition Junior Sinclair, Kevin's cousin took a bunch of wickets in the trial matches
No wrist spinners of note however.
In reply to imusicman you know that is a scam everybody looking out for their own how many players are playing for franchises that are not based in their home country.except for t20 cricket games
In reply to Dukes
Nedd is talented but he is unfit.. Got one of the lowest scores on the yo yo test.
According to sources Kevin Sinclair did not make the squad for the two FC matches because of his attitude.. In the last practice match at Providence the umpire gave him out and he went into the dressing room and start cursing.. Coaches told him to calm down and he started on them too.

Maybe he hanging around Polly too much?
Just a thought

I guess the few games he got in WI colors rubbing shoulders with the likes of Gayle, got to his head!

I got a bad report on him and I spoke to him about his goals and he did not come across as somebody who is humble and with the right attitude. However I try not to harshly judge young people and hopefully he will correct his attitude.

About Nedd.He did do badly on the yo-yo test but has lost quite a bit of weight recently and is trying his best.I am trying to arrange a camp to teach these guys the best exercises so they can excel in the yo-yo test.
I have come to the conclusion that the way to pass any test requires an understanding of the test.I have spoken to someone and he will devise a methodology so that our players will pass this test with relative ease if they perform certain exercises.
Stay tuned because before the end of the year the story of Guyanese players failing the yo-yo test will be a thing of the past.
that is why we need the "Combined Islands" team which can recruit these talented bench players to get them some FC experience

Awesome news thank you!!!
To add to the yo yo test conundrum I listened to an interview involving Jimmy Adams and Sean Devers a while back where Jimmy explained that the yo yo test was meant to test your breaking point and then create a specific dietary and exercise program based on your score but what some people (probably Hettie) were doing was stopping once they reached the minimum instead of reaching their maximum which in turn scrambles their results and messes up their programs!!! So yes education is definitely key!!!
Is the yo yo test similar to the beep test?
